94--4 Runner, has been sitting untouched for 6 years. Found it on Craigslist for $600. (they were selling as a parts vehicle). It has a brand new 3.0 engine in it, (why they couldn't have upgraded to a 3.4--idk). Got it home on a trailer on Friday. Hubby got it running today--on the following Thurs. He's not a mechanic, he is just handy! Hubby says he's a "Shadetree Mechanic".... lol Still needs lots of attention.

Mouse nests in the air filter, exhaust pipe. Mouse playground on top of air intake. Snake in engine compartment. Mice chewed wires for fuel injectors, various vacuum lines, and a radiator hose.

Have got a good start on it. Will eventually be my 2nd mail truck. My mail route is rural, 100 miles--75 miles of dirt. Every day, 5 days/week. I go thru tons of front end parts each year. I drive an 03 Tacoma double cab w/camper shell on it, now. I can't wait to have a dry, dirt free cargo space. I have right hand drive auxiliary pedals in my taco. Hubby wants to upgrade to a more permanent RHD pedal setup in the 4r and eventually put same setup into taco.

My 4r won't be as fancy as a lot of rigs here, but it will work for me.

I am currently reworking a 3rd gen. and as yours is mine was a mess...its a work in progress, but coming along fine and has lots of life...

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. I saw that you use odoban, also. I have cucumber melon scent. Its good for a freshener and cleaner. It is very nice--much better than the smoky, mildewy scent that the truck came with. I'm working the interior today, hubby's doing plugs, wires, distributor & rotor.

Found out about that pesky alarm, by accident. That's one of the things we need to disarm. Glad my taco didn't come with that.

Plugs, wires, distributor & rotor didn't help engine running rough--we've got a fuel injector that is filling up w/gas, instead of just a mist. So, we'll replace one. Had wanted to do 3 (on one side), but they are Expensive! Oreillys quoted $135, for one. I found them on Amazon for $44. Ordered that one. Anyone got any ideas for a better place to get them? Hubby is checking all vacuum lines. Had a part that was broken, its a temp sensor or something. Will have to take in to the guys at oreillys to see what it is & to get it replaced.
