Just spent the day removing my LCAs and it wasn't all that bad if it weren't for the two cam bolts that require dropping the steering rack!

Don't mean to revive an old thread but with all the talk about the adjustment cams and bolts this seemed like a perfect place to ask - does anybody know if it's the same part all around?
For example I believe I found the adjustment cam part number (48409-35050) but most places say it's left side specifically. But at the same time, I can't find a p/n for the right side.

Look up Timmy the tool man’s video on YouTube
For R&R on FLCAs
He lists all the part numbers.

All bolts, cams, and cam plates are the same, regardless of side of truck - FRONT SPRING & SHOCK ABSORBER | 4RUNNER VZN185L-GKPGK KZN185,RZN18#,VZN18# | Toyota | Genuine Parts Catalogs | PartSouq Auto Parts Around the World

Thanks but I'm just snagging them through a local dealership. Partsouq never has shit in stock and want OUTRAGEOUS amounts for shipping ($80 shipping for a $150 LCA? Yeah, no.)

I provided the link just to show that all the part numbers are the identical :D.

Devbot try this site when hunting part numbers, cursor on part number will highlight in red how many and where same part is used. Click on part number will show complete part number and what MY part is used on.
This page only shows left side, if part number is different for right will be shown.

There is a seller on ebay who has the cam bolts for like $37.00 per side, I Believe. Wouldn't hurt to check. I'm fixing to rebuild the front end on my 4runner and dreading this part of it lol

Don't need to drop the rack when pulling cams. Just need to remove the mounting bolts for rack, and position down about 1", and out of the way.
Is this something you're positive on? I really want to believe theres an easier way than removing the rack altogether, and the clearance is damn close as it sits. Just never messed around with the steering rack, personally

Yes he is correct, have done job several times. You can make life easier by removing power steering hose clamp about 14-16" from rack secures hoses to frame to keep them from flopping around, just follow hoses you'll find it.
Can also benefit by removing tie rod ends from knuckle.

Awesome, thanks for your input. I had a feeling Toyota would've made it easier on themselves than others make it seem - but at the same time if you've ever worked on cars like the Fiat 500 you'll know an alternator swap is a 4-5 hour job, because your options are either drop the entire subframe or pull the whole engine out. Just never know sometimes.

because mine is my DD, and doing it in driveway, I did my side separately then changed hose fitting so I’ve had my rack off & on again at least 3x in last wk n half.

I’m no gear head...racks not that bad really, 4 bolts, torque m to spec when done. Previous poster is correct on hose clamp, it’s key to give you some play. With bolts out and hose clamp removed, gives you enough play to pull rack back n up to pull out cam bolt without removing any lines.

Also take a hard look at your return lines to your pwr steering reservoir cause if they’re rotted, doing them at same time saves you from having to removing rack again. There’s some decent aftermarket lines out there.

Tim’s video is great and those specific diablo blades cut awesome.

Yes they do will vouch for you on that what I used.
If need arises Flare nut wrenches along with standard to loosen hose fittings, if never off lots of PB Blaster on pressure hose fitting its steel on steel type fitting that needs to be free to turn or you'll twist hose up.
