Leak on the A Pillar

Just noticed a leak coming from somewhere on my A pillar, has anyone ever dealt with one in this location before?

Seems too high to the the windshield seal.

Silicone up the holes through your roof for your roof rack. I had the same problem on the passenger side.
I know there's a hole under the plastic endcap in the front of the roof rack, right above where you're referencing, start there and work your way back.

Go the extra mile and silicone every hole under the bolts that hold the rails in for good measure.

ah good call, I'll start there. Ya i'm thinking the same thing, I read a few posts about the windshield moldings but this spot looked too high. Thanks for the help!

I do have a sunroof but it does not work, always stays closed. Is there an easy way to get to that drain tube or do I have to pull the assembly out and such?

Sunroof drains. There's one right there. Water comes in through the glass but is supposed to drain through 4 tubes, one in each corner. I cannot remember where they drain out but can be accessed if you drop the headliner. Takes a bit of interior trim removal (including the infamous grab handle screws with lock-tite) to get to it.

I vote sunroof drains as well. Just because you don't open your sunroof doesn't mean water isn't getting in. Common misconception is that cars are water tight. They aren't. They just have good drainage. Look at the front left and right corners of your sunroof tub when open. See if anything is blocking the holes. You can even pour a little water in there to see if it comes out the bottom. If water pools up either blow compressed air in the holes or run some weed wacker line through the tube.

Looks like every other 4Runner that has spent life outside. I fixed it by running a weed wacker line through the front drain. BUT, it's clogged again now. These factory sunroof drains are total shit. Accessing the drain tubes is not easy either. Even Jeep does a better job with that.

Pull trim and O'shyt handle with visor..make sure it hasn't come off tub spout :eyebrows:

Yep sunroof drain hose where it connects to the nipple. Just had this problem. Snipped a little of the end and put a hose clamp on it.

From what you're saying, I'm assuming that you disabled the drain tube? If so, where/how does it drain now?

The way I read it, he cut off the bad section of hose and reconnected it with a hose clamp.
