This is typical, the boots are used to being in the same place after 14 years and probably dried out. Now you lifted it changing the angle and because it's dried out they tear and now the grease is leaking out.
There are 2 approaches to this:
1. Replace the boots with aftermarket boots, some are doing the Porsche boot mod/exchange which can be found by searching.
2. Since you are taking the CV axle off anyway some are just installing brand new CV axles entirely. Most are using the Napa Max Drive with lifetime warranty.
It's a lot of work to replace just the boots, and it's a real mess. You can save a ton of time just replacing the CV but it's up you. Not sure what your access to parts is up there in Canada.
