Leather Seats on E-bay??

Up close of the leather/vinyl. The leather is the top part and the vinyl is the bottom part.

I didn't do the work all at once, I split it up into a couple days because I had other things to do. I could've been done in less than 2 days had I had enough time. As for difficulty, taking the seats and seat covers off were no problem, but getting the hog rings in place and hooking the new covers on was pretty hard, even with hogring pliars. I think I did it pretty well considering this is the first time I've ever done anything like this. I don't know how professionals are able to do them in only a few hours!

Can you tell me if the retaining rib for the rear seat cushions are a different design than stock? The ones i have seem to sit in the channel of the steel pan, rather than clip on to the edge of the pan like the stock ones.

Yes, they are a different design. If you look at the leather covers, they have clips also, but they need to be folded over once before being able to clip on the edge of the pan. I just hogringed the cover in place, flipped the whole cushion assembly over and sat on the pan to compress the foam a bit so I could fold the ridge over and clip it on.

Here's the best picture I could find of how they looked installed. Notice how they don't have the strip on the bottom. I personally think it looks "cleaner" this way.

Thanks, i'll try again. I thought it would need to be folded, but that would take some effort. Sitting on them will do it, that is good to know.

I zip tied mine and didn't use the hog rings. i don't have the pliers and trying by other tools seemed futile. I know the miata guys have had no issues with zip ties. Fingers crossed.

Hey are the front seat pockets different on the driver and passenger side? That pic above shows some sort of mesh behind the driver seat but it's solid behind the passenger seat. What's up with that?

The one with the mesh is the cloth seat cover. I didn't quite have the time to finish that one off, so I just took the pictures with the cloth still on that seat. Sorry for the confusion. The passenger's seat is the one with the leather cover on it.

Yikes, I think they might've sent the wrong color. That looks like the taupe color I have (which matches perfectly with my interior.)

Well it looks a bit too gray to be taupe and bit too taupe to be gray. The box is labeled smoke and I beleive these are the ones they believe are gray. They just have the same brownish hue that showed up in the picture I posted on page 1 of this thread. None the less, they assured me that these are a factory color match. They aren't.

The taupe color isn't very "taupe-like" It's one of the reasons I didn't mind the taupe interior too much (I wanted gray), because it wasn't as light as most of the other "tan" colored interiors. I still think the pictures you posted look like the taupe kit I got. Definately send them back.

Here are the pieces of YOUR seats that you sent me sitting on top of my seats. As you can see, the (cough) gray ones are darker than the taupe ones. Either way, both have a brownish/beige tint.
