LED bar roof rack wire routing

Finally got the rack and light installed. The light wiring was a lot easier than anticipated. From the battery into the cab, I used the hole were the main wiring harnesses went through. Plenty of room, just cut an additional slit in the rubber housing that seals the hole in the firewall. Going from the battery up to the light I ran it to the windshield, for the length of the windshield I removed the black housing that the wires were in. I tucked the wires in along side the windshield with the negative wire in top. Very clean look an barely noticeable. From the top of the windshield to the gobi mount, I tucked it under the black rubber that goes along the roof above doors. Once to the mount, just ran up along the bottom rack and plugged in. Works and looks great. I will post some more detail pics soon.

We do the same exact thing whenever we do an install except we also put clear silicone in the windshield grove. It keeps the wire in there so it does not move around.

I need to touch that up but haven't done it yet. You just run it all the way along the shield and the push the wire in?

I did not pull any seals from the windshield. There was enough room from the factory to run two wires on top of each other along the windshield. I did run some silicone to hold the wires together and stay in place though.

So I've researched a lot of users threads on wiring LED bars and have found some good info. My question is though, how do I route the wires off of a Gobi roof rack to run the LED bar in the front of the rack? I'm wondering how the wires will get down into the dash? I'm really hoping there is no drilling! If anyone has had experience in this, I'd like to hear. I ordered a Gobi stealth and rigid light bar. Haven't received yet but just preparing myself. Thanks!

Did this. No drill. No weatherstripping removal. Worked awesome.

Just starting messing around with running wires to my light bar as well and noticed I could squeeze both my 16g wires underneath my windshield seal (no silicon needed). Once I got one ran, I simply pushed it toward the windshield and later then next one along side of it. I used my plastic flathead that I got a while back, works like a charm and no paint scratching!

This is very similar to what they do at body shops. It's called "Roping" and is used to apply paint or clear coat without removing the windshield or reveal moldings.

I have a light and Baja Spy Rack. One side of windshield was for light wires, the other side was for the actuator.

Can you do me favor and take a pic of the weather stripping at the top of your windshield (between the gobi wind deflector)? Pretty sure something is supposed to be there on mine...
