LED Headlight Bulbs - Check em out!

This is also one of my questions... and which LED "bulb" would you be replacing the low beams with? I'm looking to upgrade my headlight output (both high and low beams) and get a bit of a whiter color without doing a full-blown HID conversion. I also don't really understand HIDs at all but that's another story.

Very nice man! The output is certainly nothing short of impressive for a drop-in LED, things sure have come a long way.
So would it be fair to say that the LED high beam pattern is less intense and much more wide spread? I'm comparing the pictures and it seems like the 9011s still have a wee bit of edge on intensity but at the same time seems to be a more focused "spot" pattern. Good stuff dude, thanks for posting pics! (and almost getting arrested in the process, lol)

I absolutely love the HID kit I have in the low beams, its hard to see from the first pic, but the cutoff and beam pattern is exceptional... it is better than the OEM halogen beam pattern. I know there are plenty of naysayers about HID retrofit kits, but this kit is very very good. Genuine Philips components, 4300K color and true OEM look, none of the BS glare you get with the cheaper kits and none of that blue and purple color like the import tuners love so so much. I think I will run the HID low beams until they blow up, burn out or disintegrate (haha) and then probably go the route of the LED. You just cannot beat the life span, great color, instant on, and power consumption of the LED. That said, I am still wondering what the beam pattern would look like in the low beam reflector.
You are welcome! I made my girlfriend go with me last night to take the pics and she was like, "Can't this wait until Saturday or Sunday night???" I promptly said, "NO!" HAHAHAH She gets it.
We need a "multi-like" button.
Our low beam bulb is an "H11" and our high beam bulbs are 9005. If you just want a whiter light and slightly higher output in something that is a known value, look at something like the Sylvania Silverstar or Sylvania Xtravision.
I agree, I was skeptical at first but the ultimate test was having the girlfriend standing right there, a true blind test since she had no idea which lights were in which side. After seeing the high beams she said, on her own, "The passenger side is brighter and lights up more..." Well ladies and gentlemen, that would be the VLED's LED bulb! I cannot reiterate enough that the bulb that I was comparing this to (Phillips 9011 HIR) is no slouch at all, it makes the OEM bulb look like a little candle light.
As far as intensity goes, I would say that the HIR bulb has a more concentrated hotspot and less spill... The LED bulb has no defined hotspot and just very even bright light. It seems much more useable to me and lights up a great deal of the road. I will try and get a better pic somewhere else where I won't be bothered tonight.
I am putting the other side in tonight. I am very very happy with the outcome!

Ignorant question... is there a mod you have to do to be able to have lows and highs on together? I was under the impression when you click highs on, lows shut off.

Sorry, don't mean to blow up your thread, but I was doing some reading on the legality of headlight brightness.
I'm assuming these LED drop-in kits are not DOT approved, right? So technically, if you got pulled over you could get a ticket?

I'm pretty sure the driving lights (fogs) turn off when you have your high beams on but the low beams stay. Usually when you have separate high and low bulbs all four will be on. The reason the driving lights turn off is I think there's a law that only allows four forward facing lights to be on at once.
So who's gonna be the first to try a similar light on their low beams?

I too am on the verge of trying out both high and low beam kits but don't want to put in a mod that may result in me not passing a state inspection or getting a ticket for "improper equipment."
From my research, even any aftermarket HID light is technically illegal (only ones that come from the manufacturer are legal).
Can anyone chime in here? The impatience of upgrading my lights is killing me

Anything not DOT approved is technically illegal ... and VLED has nothing listed on their site about DOT approval that I could find.
Also aux lights that are positioned higher than the factory headlights should technically be covered up when on public roads.

Not sure about 'Merica, but in Canada that varies by province. In B.C. they need to be covered but not in Alberta. I drove by lots of cops in B.C. with mine uncovered and they never stopped me, though I'm sure they would've ticketed me for it if they pulled me over for speeding or something else.

I'm looking at these as well. For DOT legality, I have LED headlights in my bobbed deuce and a half and the lights do say DOT legal, or approved or something of that nature on the plastic covers. This is in VA, which has some pretty strict laws on the books when it comes to vehicles. I would ASSUME (yeah I know) that as long as the headlights were "aimed" correctly they would not present a problem.
One interesting thing that I noticed with the LEDs on the deuce is that they do not produce enough heat to keep the headlights from collecting ice when driving in bad weather in the winter, not sure if it is really an issue here, just something I thought was worth mentioning.
I keep mine uncovered all the time as well, but I do have the covers laying in the back. Don't think it's an offence that most cops are looking for, but as you said; if they have a reason to pull you over and you piss them off, they may tack on.

They look nice, only thing I would be concerned about over time is that little fan mounted on the back of it. If water, dust, sand, mud, get built up over time and it fails, wont this LED unit as well?
