Did you apply some silicon or anything around the cable to keep it sealed?

no, if you're replacing with an aftermarket bulb; it should have a rubber grommet that fits and seals the hole after you have drilled the dust cap. If the hole that's drilled into the dust cap is slightly bigger than the rubber grommet than yes i would place tape around it to prevent moisture from getting inside.

The katanas fit inside the dust cap. I didn’t modify or cut anything for them to fit and have zero issues.
As for adjusting, do it while it’s darker out and aim it against a garage door or something so you can watch the beam pattern.

I tried a few LED kits but each would have dark spots or a broken beam pattern. I found the Katana works extremely well in my three 4Runner's. I get a really nice beam pattern, a good match to my OEM pattern with a much higher brightness and no dark spots. I agree with some other forum members - this bulb seem to match the Supernova V4's at a third of the price.
Installation in my 4Runner's was a bit tight, the cable and LED driver are a little larger than some other bulbs. I just took some time to try a few different ways of mounting and installing the LED driver behind the headlight housings dust cover. I found the best way to get everything to fit, was to connect the factory wiring to the LED driver and get it installed with the drivers base flat against the bulbs solid aluminum mounting block, then install the bulb and connect it to the driver.
I also decided to keep halogen's in the high beams because of the DRL flickering issue, I did replace the stock 9005's with 100W temperature matched bulbs that are super white and come close to the LED's.
Upgraded the fog lights with a inexpensive Alla Lighting 2800lm LED Fog Lights Bulbs set that seems to work well. I choose these because of the internal driver - time will tell if they hold up.
All in I am very happy with the results - far improvement over stock.

Yes, those are the LED fog light bulbs that I am running. Seem to be a nice match to the Katana low beams. Let me know how you like them after you get the installed.

Fogs arrived today. They are nice and bright. Thanks for the recommendation. The low beams I have now are Fahren, also from amazon. I plan to swap them out with the Katana as these have some defect on the cutoffs.

I tried the Fahren bulbs also, I found the same as you not a great cut-off and a few dark spots, switching to the Katana bulbs was a very noticeable and positive change. Using the Alla fog bulbs with the Katana low beams, to me, provides a great coverage pattern, I think they work very well together.

These led h11 are okay, but they are not as bright as Oem led like Bmw and Lexus. But they will do until I get something like morimoto xb. I just want to see them in person before I buy them.

Here are the katana h11 I got. They are awesome. Very bright as drl and nice high beams. There’s some flicker as drl but barely noticeable.
The ones I got are $48.99.

Glad I found this post! Previous owner installed Auxbeam LED's and the passenger side low-beam output was essentially non-existent because of how the LED was sitting in the projector.
Ordered some Nineo's off Amazon, delivered in a day and they are night and day better than the Auxbeams. Took me about 30 minutes to get the adjustable mounting right but once I got them in place they are solid! Perfect fit, no issues whatsoever. Adjusted the aim on the headlights themselves and am thoroughly impressed. The fan on the Nineos are about 20X quieter than the Auxbeams, you can barely hear them with the engine off. The Auxbeam fans you could audibly hear with the engine running.
FWIW, my high-beams are also Auxbeam and they work great, extremely bright. If/when the Auxbeam high-beams go out, will be ordering Nineo's as replacements.

Sorry to resurrect, I just got these in for my wife’s sr5. What did you do for the ballast? Drill through the dust cap?
They all fit inside the housing, and you don't have to modify the dust cap.
