LED headlights?

I took some advice about replacing the accessory and reverse lights with LEDs - and wonder if that could be done for the more critical lights, as well. Given my inability to remember how to search this forum for this topic, I thought I'd ask if others had tried replacing their headlight bulbs with LED lights ... and fogs too?

Thanks for any help.

dont do it, just save up some more and do a retrofit.

Thanks. I am sure there is plenty of wisdom in this advice; I just don't completely understand it.

A retrofit? of?

HID retrofit. This involves adding projectors into the headlight housing and HID bulbs + a ballast.

Running LEDs in my foglights from SoCAL LEDs, I'm impressed with the output. Don't really have a good picture.

The downside of most LEDs is they have a cooling fan that can be noisy.

your picture is not a hid retrofit, its a halogen headlight swap with hid plug and play kit. a true hid retrofit is having hid projectors modified and installed in your own housing. you are going to waste money on those led kits.

True, I posted the picture to show the LED fog lights. Glad you were able to confirm what I posted. :thumb: I wasn't implying that I did a retrofit, I was attempting to help the OP understand what you meant when you threw "retrofit" out there w/out additional explanation

As far as wasting money? That's subjective. The stock projector foglights seem to be doing a great job properly distributing the lights from the LEDs. They cost ~$15 more than a set of "high performance" halogens, worth it IMO for this.

I replaced my headlight bulbs in my Civic with an LED system and yeah, lots of light. HOWEVER please remember that when installed into a housing that's NOT made for a bulb other than one intended will, I repeat WILL result in scattered light thus resulting in blinding other drivers.
