at most it took two hours, i wasnt timing it but i would say it was less. All the bulbs with shipping was only around 45$ so it was fairly cheap too!

so anyone have details on how to take off dash display to change out the 3 194's? also, how to get the heat/radio console off? i have a 97'.

thanks

the lights in the dash on 99+ 4runners are NOT #194"s they are #24's. unfortunately i figured this out after i ordered my lights

Oh thanks for telling me! I would have ordered the wrong ones for my 02.

no problem
#74's i've heard will work, but they are a little loose

#24 is the correct bulb
You are incorrect, on the 2002 4Runner's there are no #24 bulbs, The HVAC controls use two Type A Neo-Wedge bulbs, and three Type B Neo wedge bulbs. You can get them from www.autolumination.com And the guage lighting consist of three #74 bulbs.

the map light, dome light, and cargo area light are all DE3175

they sell about 10 bucks a bulb on ebay
The map lights are Ba9's. At least they are on the 2002 models.

Yeah it's very confusing, I don't know why they wouldn't have used the same bulbs every year. I wish they would've used 194's for the guage lighting, that'd be so much better than the 74's. And the Neo-wedge LED's blow a big one for the HVAC controls, the hot spots are so bad, it looks horrible.....

Well I have an 02 and now I am totally confused LOL! When I actually do it I guess I will just have to pull the bulbs out on my truck then order the bulbs.

If you have a 2002 I can tell you every thing you'll need to order. Just tell me what all you want to change and I'll tell you what you need.

yeah

i was going to recommend doing that because then you will know exactly what you need. and taking the cluster out isn't hard at all. 15 mins. tops

I do have an 02, and I will probably change out all of it. Can you change the clock illumination too?
