I am a newbie to this forum and I just wanted to say that you all have given me the mod bug for my 1997 T4R SR5.
I ordered some led lights the other day from ledlight.com. I had looked at autoillumination.com but ledlight.com was cheaper even though they had a smaller selection. I ordered some 194's for the dash and some 194 1 watt led's for the from park lights and some 74's for the HVAC, shifter and the ignition lights. The package arrived today so I plan on installing them tomorrow after work. I am excited to see how it turns out. Oh, I went with the blue led's for the interior. I have a Kenwood HU that is primarily blue so hopefully these will accent it well.
Thanks for the inspiration to mod and spend money!

The bulb does come out of the socket without breaking. The bulb is a bi-pin with the pins attaching to thin metal plates on each side that clip on to the plastic. If you look closely you can see these clips on the sides and the plates actually protrude slightly at the top. Press the clips in and then you can push the bulb and the plates out of the plastic holder. Your window switch is brighter because the bulb is located directly behind the switch. The rear defrost and ECT switches share a bulb that is located directly between the two.

Ok, so I got my led lights installed this afternoon. I have not seen them at night yet, well except for the HVAC control one that I installed last night. They are not very impressive. 
Pretty disappointed. They shine in a to focused area and dont seem very bright. I used basic round lens single led bulbs.
What bulbs did you guys use on the 194's and the 74's?
I did also install some 1 watt 194's in the park lights. They look pretty cool and bright so far, but I have not seen them at night yet. They compliment the Sylvania Silver Star Ultra's that are in the head lights.
Question: How do you get to the bulb that lights up P R N D etc... on the shift lever?

I got the tri LED from autoilumination. They seem to spread out the light pretty good, but there are still some hot spots which I don't like.

Ok I installed 1of these bulbs into the door.
Next thing I know, the dome #17 fuse is blown I switched the bulb over to change polarity, add a new fuse and there is no door ligh.
Long story short - the ground wire going to the door light is now shorted. WTF!!!!!! How can I get this fixed? Are these type bulbs problems?
I installed the 2 dome festoom LED's without problems.

I need some help here. I'm doing the cig lighter and I can't get the damn thing out. I've tried press the two silver things on each side. I then tried pressing the gray things a little farther down. None of this worked.
I then remembered reading about breaking it. So I broke it and now I can't even get it out.
Any ideas?
I also bought a Super Brigt Neo A for the AC and it was a tight fit so I had to push it in there. I go to turn it on and of course it doesn't work. I try to take it out and that doesn't work either. So now I'm left with no light for the AC.

You don't have to break it to get it out but I guess it's too late for that. IIRC the tabs need to be pushed in and then the silver rails slide up out of the plastic holder. Stupid design and not an easy bulb type to find either. The a/c led should just need to be rotated 180 degrees in its socket and then it will work. I had to use a safety pin to pull the bulb out because of the tight fit. Just stab the pin into the plastic base to get a good hold on it.

Thanks. I will try that. I'm not really sure how to "slide the silver rails out", I did see them though. How do you suggest pressing in the tabs. They are too small for my hands or fingers.
I'll try that with the AC light. I do have it turned 180 degress, but I'm not sure what's going on. When I was driving home tonight it was lit up just a little bit. I'm thinking the NEO might be too tall.
When I compared them before installing it it was quite a bit taller, but I didn't think that it would be a problem.
Now I have a question about the ash tray. I installed a white bulb, but it lights up green. I noticed that there is a green cover/slide thing that covers the opening. I tried to pull it off, but it seems like it is on there pretty tight. Any ideas on what to do?

I'm kind of mad at V-LEDs. I ordered my bulbs Sunday and still haven't gotten them. I ordered some from autolumination Sunday too and they got here today. What does "processed" mean on the order history?

Just a little update. I got the NEO out, thanks 004Gunner. I put the old green one back in. I'm wondering now if I was sent the wrong size. The bases seem to be about right, but the height of the new NEO is taller by about 2-3 mm. I tried it in the rear window down button and it didn't fit there either.
I went back to the cig lighter and finally got the two silver pins out. I auctually took a safety pin and pulled the gray pieces back a little and pulled the silver pins out with some tweezers. From there I tried to put the LED in the socket and then put the pins back in, but that didn't work. It seems like the new LED is too tall or something.
I also tried to break the green plastic piece that covers the light bulb opening to the ash tray. I probably got 100-200 solid hits on it with a screw driver and it barley made a dent. I eventually got it raised up some so that a little white light shines down. I think it's impossible to remove this piece.
The LEDs for the gagues came today. I got those installed pretty easily. Just a note to people who might do this, you really don't have to unhook the four connectors on the back of the gauges. Just reach back there and twist the green knobs off. I'm pretty happy with these. I could not find any hot spots. The only problem is that there is an area or two that doesn't get very much light. It's not a big deal and I'm pretty picky.
I was really supprised to see how many light bulbs are on the gauges. WOW! If I replaced each one I would probably spend over $100.
I'm going to try and get some pictures soon. It's been raining all day today.

Oh yeah, I remember how I removed the green piece on the ash tray. I took a drill to it, and drilled the shit out of it.
For the rear window switch neo, you have to completely take the piece out of your dash, I'm sure your just trying to drop the neo down in there and turn it with a flat head screwdriver and it looks like it's in there, this is what I tried when I realized it wasn't connecting.

1st try - Single round 194's in the gauges, and single round 74's in the HVAC, glove box, shifter, and ignition. All blue led.
