LED Rears.

I've been thinking about buying these tail lights for my '04, but have a question about the backup lights. I know the bulb is the same, but the reflector and lens are different.

I know the LED brake lights are brighter as I have been behind a few of them and they really are bright, but just curious if the backup lights are any better.

Are the backup lights any brighter with the LED tailight vs the non LED tailight?

Old vs. New taillights. Installed them in about 30 minutes. So much brighter!

You do re-use your backup light bulbs. Only the brake/running light is a factory included LED in these.

That being said, I already had LED backup bulbs from V-leds in my old housings which I re-used in these new ones and the V-led bulbs are a huge improvement when backing up.

I did not notice a difference in brightness from just the new housings for the backup lights though.

Thanks for the reply.

Do you remember which V-leds you used for the backup light?

Just checked my email for the delivery confirmation and it said I did not have the right address......THE SHIPPING ADDRESS IS ON THE CONFIRMATION!!!!!! Talked to FedEx and the driver said he couldn't find the address. You know...the big NUMBERS on the front of the house. They deliver to my neighborhood everyday and now he cant find the address.....WTF! PISSED. Now I might not have them till Mon. :ak472:

Shhhhhh....there's a guy who works for FEDEX in this thread :wink2:

I'm reeeeally considering this. The question is, If I'm going to tint my taillights and add LED bulbs should I bother getting these since you'll see black instead of pink?

GOT EM! It took about 15 min to install and WOW. So much nicer than the pink tails before. Sure enough Toyota Boxes and brand new!! Not bad for $174.00.

can u guys check the weight on the shipping label, i need some info, tracking number will be nice so i can get an exact quote to help ship to canada user.

I have the box mine were shipped in - just about to make a run to recycle today. Weight was 9.5 lbs. and the dimensions of the box were 19x17x11.

about the fedex problem , its not my fault lol, i dont do the courrior positiion, i do the ramp operations, its where all the planes are, thats how u guys get packages from the states to other states, usually by truck and plane, but i do planes. if u guys have a package that camed to oakland and left, chances are i might have touched it lol or it went on one of the planes i was working on.

Got mine today. Both damaged.

They are poorly packaged and not according to fedex guidelines which indicate box within a box for fragile items and 3" of padding (and they have fragile tape all over the box) or at least 4" of padding if in a single box. There was a single layer of bubble wrap around them and some paper jammed in the box.

I filed a dispute with paypal and we'll see how it goes.

Got my LED's yesterday and installed. Mine came with both Toyota boxes Taped together and Not in a Second box. Luckily No damage and they look Awesome. Mod 1 down. Now if I could figure out how to post pics from my phone.

FWIW, according to the terms listed in that auction, if you email the pics of the damaged items, they'll ship you out a new set. =)

*** Shipping damage must be reported and filed with us immediately. Email us the photos of the damaged items with the packing material. We will reship another one within 2-3 days. Please still keep the damaged items with the box. The carrier may come to inspect.

EDIT: Just purchased my set! =)
