LED Strip Lighting

With the plethora of LED lighting available, I'm a bit skeptical on where to buy. I do trust VLEDs but they're not really selling what I'm looking for - an LED light that can be affixed to the hood for adequate engine bay lighting.

I don't mind putting two sheet metal screws in the hood to make it permanent; I've had bad luck with any adhesive in the engine bay.

Opinions on any reputable LED vendors would be appreciated!

plenty of options for mini mounting brackets on amazon for cheap. bought some strip lighting on there for the house and ya, the sticky back adhesive is garbage

3M Heat resistant

3M has heat resistant 2 side tape (the red). These have been good for me. The LED produces heat that causes it to not stick.

This! I am the fleet manager for a limo company. I use their stuff all the time. Infinite Innovations is another option. Well known in the coachbuilder world.

just get the 5050 led strips, make sure its waterproof, and have some super glue handy, clean the area up with alcohol and apply super glue back of the sticky tape of the led strip, apply to area of hood and use masking tape to hold in place.

i got the cheapest i could find on amazon.

Buying LEDs was the best decision ever! The cabin looks now like an alien spaceship. Especially if set for purple or another unnatural colour. I got these smart strip lights and am fully satisfied.
Not sure about the metal screws in the hood. This can cause rust. I used some good glue. It’s already been a month since I’ve attached them, and they still did not get loose.
PS. At first, I didn’t want to buy them, but my kids saw them in my brother’s car and made me do the same. No regrets!
PPS. I think you can use some masking tape to make sure they hold in place.

I dont trust two sided tape under the hood. I have used 100% clear silicone with great success. Just tape it in place for 24 hrs. And also used a hood pin switch to control it. I know myself, would forget to turn off an actual switch.
