Well, I finally went ahead and bought the LEDs for all the turn signals on my 'Runner. Unfortunately I could not find an electronic flasher unit compatible with my DRLs because I really didn't want to have to add the resistors but ended up having to do that anyway. From my research I was led to believe that one resistor was needed for each bulb so I started with the front ones since those seemed easier to get to. So after I wire up both sides I try the blinkers and they all worked normally without having them installed on the rear LEDs. Excellent! Only problem is that they get really hot. I know that they are resistors and hat is what they do, get about as hot as a regular bulb. Normally not a problem but my turn signals are also my DRLs so they are on constantly. Looks like I will just end up disconnecting the DRLs instead of redoing the work on the rear lights. The resistors I used are 50 W 6 Ohm. I should be ok just running the two in front right? Everything works normal. I have them screwed to metal with plenty of space around them for airflow. Sorry no pics. I am really bad at the pic posting thing. Maybe I will give it a try later tonight or tomorrow and see if I can do it...

Have the same set up for years now. No complaints. Have the resistors "dangling" in the air with zip ties in the front and rear. Have only had to replace the front resistors once(both sides, driver and passenger) because they got corroded. The splash guards don't keep all the salt out up here.
IMO Red's in the rear look so much better than stock Amber as well.

Also just realized you have a 4th gen, that relay is for 3rd gens, not sure if it will work with yours

Nope, I couldn't even find one that would work with the DRLs. It is a big 12-pin dealie. I just found another post on here describing which wire to pull from the plug to disable the drl so I will probably just do that so they are not just constantly hot...
