Lets go devils !!!

1 Down
3 to go
I will give credit where credit is due and say the Devils played harder than I thought they would, but I still don't think they stand a chance

The fact that the Devils played a very "average" game with "average" effort and still got it to overtime and almost won bodes well for the rest of this series.

Once the Devils get over their major Rangers hangover (which everyone predicted), it will be really tough for LA to stay in this. LA's first goal was a joke that wouldn't have beat a bantam goalie.

Too bad there's 2 days between games.

Just damn....Well looks like there's gonna be riots in L.A., of course they were gonna riot anyway. Does anybody in L.A. even watch Hockey?

LA is a huge TV market and the TV ratings are showing people are watching the games and LA Kings games are generally always sold out so the answer is yes.

Agreed. LA is actually a huge hockey market. Hopefully there will be no riots if/when they win. Must be the dumbest reaction ever to winning a championship.

I've always heard L.A. is a huge TV market so that will be good for hockey. There is no denying that the Kings have whip some major butt this playoff. My hats off and much respect! :guitar2:

The thread title jinxed them;it's alwasy better to just have a "hockey" thread and don't be specific with a team. :biggrin2:

I'm rooting for the Devil's tonight purely because I'd like to see them make a series out of it. However, I'm not sure they can. Quick has been too dominate in the goal this playoffs and I don't see that changing.

See ya back in LA for Game 6.

Pressure, pressure, pressure.

Devils have already been buried in everyone's mind so they're out having some fun now.

talk about a spanking!

3 goals in five minutes? i think its well deserved considering that hit from behind was a load of bull.

kings deserved the cup entirely.

Yeah, one stupid play may have cost the Devil's any chance at the cup. No way Quick was going to give up a 3-0 lead. Sort of an anticlimactic ending to a pretty good series. Good to see they gave the Conn Smythe to Quick. He definitely deserved it!

GO PENS '13!

i missed the first 15 mins of the game turned it on, saw the score and started watching american pickers instead.....sad ending to a good series, wanted it to go to game 7 for sure or at least have this game be a bit closer, i'd check back in from time to time and the kings where always dominating....

Yeah, I went climbing and DVR'd it. When I got home and watched the first major penalty, I sort of fast forwarded it after that. I can only imagine what a game 7 would have looked like. One team who has been dominant on the road against another one that was down 0-3. I did like seeing them win on their home ice. Good to get the love you deserve.

personally, i think the kings could have taken it in game 4 and just ended it. i mean, if you look at how well they played the 4 games that they won, they DOMINATED the devils, then all the sudden they have no energy and slack and loose 2 games? makes no sense. i think it was for the money. get in those extra games to get another arena full of cash, plus take the cup in your home town.

Bottom line, its is very unfortunate to see a deciding game have referees play such a major role. They missed one call (the hit on Gionta), overreacted to fan reaction on the next one (the Bernier hit), and then interfered with a Devil later that led directly to another goal.

Couple of things.....

On the Bernier hit, the puck carrier was lined up at high speed and then reversed and turned FACING the boards at the last minute. The puck carrier has a responsibility for his own safety and should not do that. For those of you who know the game, you know there is no way possible a player can stop in time to avoid delivering the hit. Bad call in any game, never mind a Stanley Cup game 6. If anything, 2 minutes. NO WAY A 5 MINUTE MAJOR.

If Gionta had been in an area where there were glass boards, it would have looked as bad or worse than the Bernier hit.

On the ref interference on Volchenkov, it was blatant interference and the whistle should have blown by another referee instantly. Period. Just a faceoff. No goal scored.

These plays had a dramatic effect on how the rest of the game was played and the Devils, in short, were screwed out of an opportunity to extend the series.

You're an absolute idiot and should be embarrassed.

Games 1 and 2 could have gone either way and thinking additional games were "for the money" is ridiculous.
