Don't have a pic, but can get one in a bit. I'll leave this as a placeholder till then. I mounted mine to the rear left bumper. I have a 5 foot Wilson fiberglass silvertip antenna. get about 10 mile range. have to take it off when i go into a parking garage though.

I put mine in the same time i did my HU, i tapped into the full time +12 on that so i can still use it with the truck off. its got a built in switch that way.

So if I pick up one of those, I just solder the red into one of those fuse connector things and ground the black, and put that fuse thing in an empty slot in the fuse block (assuming there is an empty slot)? Thanks this looks like the simplest way

Yep, and you don't even have to solder, you can just crimp it. And I know there are a few empty places on the fuse block under the dash, there are also a few under the hood too on that fuse block. And if you have to get more wire that's easy too, same section in the auto parts store.

I tapped into one of cigarette lighters as mentioned by jsmarine- I don't need all of them myself. It is switched (only comes on when ignition is on)which I thought was wise so I did not leave the CB turned on accidently and draining the battery.
Just add some more wiring if you want enough room to pre-wire in there and pull out your CB. It does help to have a second person around to hold wiring out of the way and so on while you make the connections. Start with the ground first so you don't blow a fuse...there is a good ground connection right behind the radio bezel-down and to the drivers side.
As for placement of the CB itself -mine was small enough to fit under my Sony head unit- I mounted it flush to the left side and used plumber's metal strapping band to wrap around my head unit and used the side (knob) screw ins for my Midland 1001Z.
Antenna easy for me- I have the ARB bumper up front and just drilled out a slightly bigger hole from an existing one near the center.
Good time to add a power antenna switch while you have the dash all apart, and I did the antenna combiner mod as well. Here is link from our good buddy Rock Slide over on Yota Tech:

Also read a great idea-if your head unit has an auxiliary input jack(?) that makes for a great use for an external speaker, just run a mini to mini cord from back of your Cobra to poke out the front. Then you can hear your CB through the radio speakers when you put head unit on aux setting.

I went with a magnetic mount Wilson Little Wil for my setup. Don't really like the antenna on the bumpers look and wanted to have good range and reception. I got mine tuned and so far I have always had better range and reception than anyone in the groups I have gone out with. Plus I can totally take it apart when I am not using it.
