I know some folks have gone custom and did some fun things.

While I was at the range last I saw a limited with a IDPA silhouette that cracked me up.

I just figured it would be a fun post to see what everyone has on their t4r

I live downtown with on-street parking, so i leave my recovery point locked in the hitch to keep parallel parkers from bumping me

it already did it's job on a ferry crossing when the idiot behind me didn't set his parking brake and rolled into my truck and now has a concave front bumper cover

My first hitch cover was just a flat 2"x 2" black-rubber Toyota Emblem, $8 bucks:

...but I've had two of them stolen in about a month; someone in my building was taking them off my truck... don't know why. So then I bought this because it is practical and can be locked:

I actually just have a hitch in mine, a little added protection if someone decides to not stop soon enough + a nice step to reach up onto the rack if needed.

Easy to do: The opener came from a fly shop, but I think Simms also sells them via their website. I then mounted it to a basic flat-surfaced hitch insert that I found on amazon.


Goes well with the [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] rear bumper cup holder mod....

Use a Factor 55 HitchLink as a cover, and it's functional!

I'm partial to the Smittybilt Beavertail. It serves as a step, recovery point, and has mild intimidation value.

I had no idea that you were up my way bro! My sis used to live in Newburgh NY in the "Green house" apts right where Interstate 87, 84, rt 300, and rt 17 all come together. There's a great lil' diner by the name of "Johnny D's" across from a lake where the wife-n-I like to go every now-n-then.

Very familiar with the area....had a construction business in Newburgh for 25 years.

I really liked that diner a lot...then they got written up for the worst diner in Orange Co. for health violations. I'm not a real picky eater....but even I had to draw the line somewhere. I'm sure they got their act together by now. Now that I'm over in Beacon, we hit the Yankee Clipper and 84 Diner...both great food.

I'm down your way for work everyday...in the Northvale/Orangeburg area.

Maybe we'll catch up sometime...:beer:
