Welcome to my build thread. Why the name Leucifer? It's a play on my first name, last name, name origins, and well, Lucifer was the original rebel and free-thinker. I'm not the rebel riding with Hell's Angels, sporting tattoos, and breaking the law and whatnot, but I've been the rebel when far more was at stake than just looking like a cool bad ass.

So, enough about me. Let's talk about my baby. I picked up my T4R in April of 2017. She left the factory on 3/27/2017, and I picked her up on 4/21/2017 (coincidentally, the birthday of one of my personal heroes, John Muir). And of course, first things first, I baptized her in the dirt that very first day......

Overall, there's three things I intend to do with this build thread.

1. Share my experiences with the 4Runner
2. Share the build as it goes along, and hopefully provide useful information to people doing their own builds.
3. Share trip photos and trip info, and hopefully provide useful information to people doing their own trips.

So, my first lesson is that:
1) Amazon Prime Photo Share doesn't seem to work here.
2) Neither does Google Photos.
Edit: It will, but you have to use a workaround like CTRLQ.org

So, inspired by [MENTION=116156]TheWraith[/MENTION], I decided one of the first things to do with the T4R was to establish a baseline for performance. I'm a little bit of a numbers guy, so I decided doing a dyno on her, stock, was a good place to start. So, on the second weekend with the truck, I took her to a local shop and had them run a couple quick dyno tests. The results, are below:

To me, this is just a good way to ensure I understand how changes I'm making to the vehicle affect the performance, at least in one limited way. The hard numbers for the output to the rear wheel is a nice to have bit of info. Now, it won't tell me how things like suspension changes (which actually may have some small effect, as it does affect the driveline) and changes to vehicle protection affect the drive (won't have any as the vehicle itself is not in motion), but it will give me insight when I change up wheels, tires, or make mods to the engine.

In any case, just thought I'd share what the stock 4Runner output looks like.

It's a little disappointing, but I understand the view that we're not building up for performance gain (mostly). The lack of these was part of why I did it. I'm just peeved they never sent me the digital versions of the dyno run.

I'm planning to squeeze in another dyno run with the newer tires. Just been busy. Currently, have Cooper STMaxx in 265. Currently, getting about 17 mpg in town, and on longer road trips, getting 20 to 22 mpg. So, efficiency currently sits in a happy spot still (for a 4R). Power output, feels ok still.

I will say, those tires are really frickin' wonderful things. Really happy with the performance so far.

The next two planned things for her are:

1) Diff breather - ARB
2) Dyno with heavier tires to see how much impact those had.

Since my last post, I also did a trip up to Eastern Oregon and Malheur National Forest for the eclipse. So, have a little bit to update on. School started up again, so between work full-time and school full-time.... I'm a little behind the power curve.
