Level 8 MK6 Wheel 'Poke' vs. Stock Trail Wheels

Ok Gents -

I'm no mathematician, so I need someone to confirm my math. Looking to upgrade stock wheels with with either the Level 8 MK6 17x8 or 17x9 wheels with 275 KO2's.

Please refer to the attachments. By my calcs, both wheels (8" or 9") would have less back-spacing than stock. In theory to me this means that there would be less chance of the wheel rubbing on the inside of the wheel well.

Further, I am calculating that the wheels will stick out ('poke') 1.2" and 1.8" more than stock, respectively.

I am looking to run these wheel stock, or on a very small lift if necessary. Will both of these work on a stock lift?

I've ran thru a few other threads and can't seem to find anyone else running these wheels on a stock lift.

Either works. I have the 17x8 -10offset with 265/70/17. I encountered ever so slight rubbing that was remedied by pushing inner fender line forward. Checkout this thread

There are also 2 different offsets/backspace for the x8 and x9.
It seems everyone runs the -12 offset with 17x9, and I'm not sure if that's because the -0 offset will hit the UCA, or if most just prefer the more "aggressive" stance.
You may be able to run the x9 et-0, which would give you a wider wheel, with more clearance(less scrub radius). It would give you about the same "poke" as the x8, with a wider wheel.

I'd like the most aggressive offset with the least rubbing on the stock suspension. Don't you think the 17x9 -12mm will accomplish this?

Had to remove the front mud flaps and push the front fender liners in and trim the bottom lip of the front bumper to eliminate rubbing.

Further out means increased scrub radius, which means your wheel/tire moves back and forth more in your wheel opening, which means more rub. That is, of course, with the same make/model/size of tire.

Just mounted 17x9 -12mm offset and they work great and look awesome I trimmed the front bumper and liner mod but im almost certain with this mod I would not have needed to done this. just a little bit of poke with the stock duelers (265). Not level 8 MK6s but wheel specs are wheel specs no matter the make.

Yeah 3 inches in front 1.5 in the back and I'm absolutely sure if you kept the 265s with no lift and just trimmed the liner or lifted without the trim you would have no rubbing issues.

Yeah then you will probably want to go with a very small lift or just trim the fender. The second option is much easier IMHO
