Level 8 MK6

UCA w/ MK6 and 285

Hey guys. Looking to finally get my lift up on my '17 TRD offroad after doing tons of research on here. However I have a wheel/UCA question.

After speaking with Marlin over at JBA Offroad he said I would get UCA rubbing if I get the MK6 wheels (17x8 -10 offset) wrapped on 285 KO2s. I would like to stick with the -10 offset, as I love the more aggressive stance, so I'm thinking I need to switch my UCA game plan. He said the 17x9 -12 offset wheel will work, but I then worry about body mount rub. I would like to avoid a BMC if possible.

What UCAs are you all using on your 3" lifts with the -10 offset wheels?

The Camburg UCA is one I may consider, if anyone has experience with a similar setup I would love to hear your feedback.

I’m running Bilstein 2.5/1.5 lift with 17x8 -10 offset wrapped in Falken AT3W in 285/70-17. I also ran this exact setup with the KO2 in the same size. All with stock UCAs. All without any rubbing on the UCAs or body mount. Each rig is different but I’m not having a single issue with anything. My alignment is also within spec.

Thanks Decipher! Sick looking rig. However I'm going for a full 3" lift so I need UCAs. Just purchased my MK6s today!

I got you. I gained 3.2” overall since my rig had such bad stock sag with 60,000+ miles on the original suspension.

Did you end up going with the -10 on 17x8? Pics are a must.

Bumping this thread because I'm also curious? I can't decide between 17x8 and 17x9 (for a 4th gen). My plan is for 265/70/17 tires

My initial assumption is that a 9” wheel is too wide for that size tire. It may fit but your tires will be more stretched and provide less protection to the wheels with the sidewall of the tire.

That setup looks so damn good! Nice looking rig and stock size on stock height with those wheels and tires looks proper.

Really having trouble uploading photos and file size issues... not sure why they have to be 123KB?!

I guess I should add to the list...

17x8 ET0 with 255/80/17 Falken Wildpeak A/T3Ws

Lift is Dobinsons 314/574 front and 327/701 rear, currently in the mid 3° of caster and I did have to trim the passenger side fender liner (pushing it forward and tightening the screws didn't hold it far enough forward).

I need to go back and clean it up a bit and trim just a bit more off on the passenger side to make sure there is plenty of clearance when compressed as well. I also made fairly small (0.5"x1.5") cuts to trim the edge of the bumper at the bottom just to be sure it didn't grab the bumper. Oh, I also simultaneously pulled off the front mudflaps, not sure if that would have been an issue, but I don't think so.

Did anyone else happen to have any wheels that were damaged in shipping? One of my five (granted, four were bought used, but had never been put on a truck) had a slight bend on the inner lip, but no visible impact damage. It still balanced out, but required nearly 3x the weight that the other four took. That one will be my spare once my LFD Offroad Rear bumper is done.

Oh! For those who didn't buy the wheels from DTD, or who didn't get lugs with them, I'm using the "DP Accessories LCB3B6HE-BK04024" set. They accept a 19mm socket, but it must be fairly thin-walled. I'm using an ARES non-marring socket.

Wow. The truck looks great! I love the graphite on graphite.

If I was critical of one thing, it’s that I would personally prefer a little more poke of the tire out of the wheel well but that’s must personal preference. You went with a more narrow tire and 0 offset so I’m sure your results were expected and it looks great!

Oh and FWIW, I wax the wheels twice a year just to keep up with ease of cleaning and to protect the paint. They’ve been scratched already off roading but that’s to be expected if you find yourself in deep mud or anything. The graphite color hides the scratches better than black will since the under color coming through is light, almost white.

A few pics for more size reference

Alright i know this is frowned upon but I really dont wanna hunt through 22 pages. I have a 02 sport edition with -10 mk6s and love the look. That being said i just bought a 2020 TRD Offroad and was wondering if anyone has any rubbing with the -10s and 265/70/17 duratracs :pop2:

I had some rubbing at full lock on the front bumper and mud flap with stock suspension. I heated up the mud flaps and flattened them out. Running Falken Wildpeak

I moved up to 285s now. Have lift now with 2.5" in front, and 2" in the rear. Removed the mud flaps, and trimmed the bumper more
