Leveling Kit Done now have lift Questions

here is my dilemma. I did a 1" level kit that gave me about 2" of lift in the front.

is the daystar 2.5/1.5 going to give me around the same lift in the front as i have now? if so what would be recommened to lift the rear ( a little) (as this does not see off road duty) i am getting BFG AT 265/65R18 and borderline of wheel spacers.

what do you think and what can i do.

here is what i have:

front: FJC springs/shock DS 1" budget boost
rear: FJC springs 4R shocks DS 1.5" spacer

you can see some details of my install in my sig below. i initially was going to do just the FJC springs and DS 1" budget boost but when that was done i wasn't happy with the way the truck sat, it was nose high and saggy ass. so i added the rear 1.5" spacers so raise the rear. i love the way the truck looks now.

to answer your question. the DS 2.5/1.5 would give you a little more lift in the front than you have now. the front spacers IIDR are made up of a preload spacer .5" and the spacer you already have in and the 1.5" for the rear. i think in order to get what you want you just need to get the rear spacer. they are only $40 here DS 1.5" spacer

i am also running 265/65-18. i had wheel spacers in but there was rubbing issues with the front. i didn't want to hassle with cutting the liner so i just took the front wheel spacers out. after that i took the rear wheel spacers out. it looks fine to me.

haha...nice. well there you go. your twin if you decide to get the rear 1.5" spacers. the only issue i see that you may have is that i might be a little higher in the front since i have the FJC springs but i think it will really minor. take some measurements in the front and compare them to mine. i need to update my post with some more recent measurements.

I have a few questions as well. I have a 2006 Limited and need new tires. I want to do a DS 2.5 / 1.5 as well. What would this lift run installed? And will 275/65/18 tires fit? I am looking at Michelin ltx at2

look at 4wheelparts see if you can piece together a set of spacers, might save you some money. the budget boost is $40 and the rear 1.5 is $40. i installed everything myself. so i saved there. not sure what it would cost to get it done. but you will need a wheel alighment after your done. that is around $75.

the michelen 275/65-18 tapes out at 32.1
my hankook 265/65-18 tape out at 31.5

so that is 1/2 inch or 1/4 per side. i would be 99.9% sure that they will fit. check ark swamp rider thread. he is running the FJC springs front and rear and 1/2" toytec spacer so his truck is lower than mine. he is running a 255/75-17 without any issues. the 255/75-17 tape out at 32.1.

Yep, my 255/75's fit, but it's tight. With the extra width, the 275/65/18's may rub, Worse case scenario you may have to move the fender liner forward, which is no big deal at all. I have no experience with that size so don't take my word for it, but my guess is that you'd be fine with them. If I'm thinking correctly, that'd match up to a 275/70/17, and I want to say I've seen several running 285's without too many issues.

AT tires will prolly fit or have minor rubbing as mentioned. Just don't add wheel spacers..
However, I don't think 275/65 will fit in the spare location. Will prolly rub the exh. Can someone confirm?

well i think i am set to buy a set of Michelin LTX A/T 2 275/65/18... I will let you know how it works out... I really want a more aggressive tire than this but do a lot of long trips in my car so i am hesitant to do anything different.... unless someone can talk me into the
duratrac???

if the spacer was 1 in. thick, then thats why u got 2 in. in lift. its double the spacer thickness, if the maker says 1 in. lift but the spacer is 1 in. thick then you'll get 2 on our 4r.

If you think about it as a long lever, it makes sense. If you move the mid-point on the lever down 1", the end of the lever will move further. With the front suspension geometry, it acts just like this. You move the control arm (where the shock mounts) down 1 inch, then the end of the control arm goes double that. A 1" thick spacer WILL yeild 2" (or right under). As you get to larger spacers, the doubling effect lessens somewhat, but it is still very close. Make sense?

here's another way to think about it. think of it like a pair of chopsticks, hold one end and slide in a spacer between the two sticks on the other end. 1 inch spacer creates one inch opening. as you push the spacer toward the closed end (keeping the sticks together) the opening or distance between the two sticks increases but the spacer remains the same size. i know its not the exact same thing but that is how i visualized it.

1" levelling

I just had a 1" daystar levelling kit installed on my 05 4runner limited. It lifted the front pretty close to 2". tape measure don't lie.

Now that i have the lift it is quite noticibly bouncy in the front end. anyone got the best solution? it's probably been discussed on this forum. i'm going to do some searching.
