lever in front of rear air suspension broken. what does that lever do? (pic)

So I have a small bracket/lever that is broken on my 2004 4runner. It is just in front of the rear airbags on the suspension. I took my runner off-roading and it was running rough on road after so I took a look. I google searched a bit and didn't find anything relating. Any help would be great.

That's the sensor's attachment lever. It's what tells the sensor how high the truck is sitting.

You're likely running rough because the bags are fully pumped up because the system is in an error state with one sensor reading way differently than the other.
