My rnr is now 19 and has, according to the odometer, 380,000 km's. Just curious as to what mileage or age have you replaced the 4rnr's alternators or fuel pumps ? Or do they last forever ?

Those parts either work or they don't. If either one goes out you will know it. I just did a fuel pump in my 01. It was not that bad but I cut the hole out and made it bigger so I do not have to drop the fuel tank.:clap2:

Everything came right out the top. My fuel gauge went to hell on me. So I just did the pump at the same time because I was there.

My alternator died at 170k miles.

I just had to replace the alternator at 225,000 miles.

Fuel pump played out at about 230k miles (right after a fill up of course).
Alternator gave up the ghost at 249k miles.

I feel that I got my money's worth.

Like anything mechanical, they will eventually wear out. There are too many variables to say definitively when that will be.
