Greetings forum,

I just purchased a 2010 TE W/ KDSS. Looking for suggestions on OME lift. I'm going to have Schrockworks front (W/Winch) and rear bumper installed. I also Have an Autohome large Air Top tent currently on top. My interest is a 3" lift for the vehicle. My confusion is in regards to keeping the vehicle level with the lift. Also wanted opinions on going heavy front and rear as I tend to have a lot of gear I travel with.

Lastly anyone know a reputable shop in Eastern PA to do the Lift install?

High Tech Auto and Truck in Chantilly, VA is not that far from you. Ducmonsta (Bobby) has done suspension work and then some for quite a few members here. My suggestion is to give him a call/pm.

You're looking at not just shock properties, but also spring values as you are adding more weight. The key is finding the balance between a higher spring rate (like a 650 or 700lbs spring), the shocks and your daily driving need and load needs.

Bobby can talk to you more in detail about all of this.

I am running OME 898 rear springs right now with no extra weight in the rear. I purchased these springs with the idea I will add a heavy rear bumper in the future. Right now, it is a little stiff in the rear but not too bad IMO. I would imagine this would be a great setup for you with the addition of gear weight.

I am running Icon Coilovers in the front so I can not give you any feedback on the front OME coils.

Any reason you don't want to lift it yourself? It is very doable and can be done on your own in a day.

I have your same setup without the rear bumper. I'm on 887s front and 889s in the rear. Front added right at 2.75-3" and the rear added almost 3" as well. The rear bumper and tent may bring you down to 2.5" lift in the rear. <---that would look good. Sometimes I feel my rear sits too high - Guess I need a heavy shrockworks rear bumper :) HAHA!


Oh yeah....... suspension rides VERY nice on and off road.
 
Are you dead set on OME? Their lifts are good but are known to sag over time, and everyone seems to get different lift numbers as well.

Hi Mgrande,

I'm not set on OME but I heard they are Not The best nor worst. The issue I have to deal with is salt on roads. Going with a product that is super adjustable or light weight aluminum I'm afraid will corrode after a season of driving.

You're correct about OME being decent. I don't know what is best for standing up to road salt, maybe icons with their special coating?

Thanks for the info Jason I'm going to look into Icon as well.

I'd like to do the work myself but I work away from home currently and don't have access to the tools I would need.
