Just installed my lift this week. Had the truck for a month. Still got a long way to go on it.
Have a link to the extended travel 5100s?

Aren't those remote resi? I was imagining 5125's with the weird bracket thing
Its meant for a tacoma. Im not 100% sure on how the lengths would work out but had it on my tacoma and they are quite long. 27". I have a feeling it might not be a good match but ill have to see. I kinda wanted to try out the 5125s too as that adapter seemed like a good pivot point.

Yeah, I'm gonna go with some bigger springs and eventually get 5125's, i think.

Hey all, I'm new to the forum but figured I would post a picture I have from a (relatively) recent purchase. I went back and forth for a while on what to choose but ended up replacing the worn Michelin Cross Terrains with stock size 265/65-17 Michelin LTX A/T2's on my 2008 SR5 V8 with stock suspension. I really like the tread and the way these look on my rig. I'll try to get a full shot of the side of the vehicle when it stops snowing and I have time to clean it!! This pic was taken before snow obviously...

(can someone tell me how to find out what size it is? Do you just measure it? I bought it installed already)
I originally purchased the same tires in 33s which rubbed on the front bumper when turning so I settled for the smaller ones. I'd like to go bigger again though. Any ideas what I can do to make them fit? Would a different offset wheel help at all? Different tire? or just a new lift?

If its a spacer lift you can just measure the front spacer and youll get your answer. As far as fitting 33's. I would think you could fit 33's with not much trimming. Or just don't turn so sharp haha

It can be done...
I removed my Sport brake system and purchased the '07+ FJ brake system. As you can gauge by the dust shield in the pic, the FJ rotor is 1" smaller (dia) than the stock Sport rotor. I can tell a little difference, but nothing I gave a second thought about. I also purchased some Pro Comp Xtreme steelies and 285-75-16 Definity Dakota M/T's the same week, and finished the entire transformation over a weekend. I was super stoked with the final product.
The new brake system going on (about two months). I removed and sold the spacers as soon the new rims arrived.
The completed look after everything was done that weekend: I got this pic posted in a few places on here!

It was counter-intuitive thinking for me as well. I performed the Tundra big-brake kit on my last two 3rd gen's, and here I am taking off a big-brake kit to fit some 16's on the 4th gen!
Then I thought - if the Limited, the SR5 and the FJ are all running this package with no issues, I should be good to go with them too. No issues so far!The Ironman is a great lift - the boys at MetalTech took the time to talk with me about the lift (and the nitro-foam cell shocks), and I thought I would give it a try. And it's actually the lift kit for the '07+ FJ, so I guess I have as many FJ parts on my rig as I do 4Runner parts... LOL!
Keep in mind that I am also running a Daystar 1" spacer in the front and the Daystar 1.5" spacers in the rear (on top of the Ironman). I measure out at roughly 4" of total lift in the front and nearly 5" of total lift in the rear. I wanted as much suspension lift as possible, so that when I install my BL I'm I able to clear 315's on my next tire selection.

I have 16's and smaller brakes and I'm willing to make the compromise and I think my brakes are *fine*. GF drove the truck the other day when I was sick and she HATED them and felt they had no stopping power compared to her CRV. I'll probably upgrade the pads next time they are due for a change.
How have you not snapped a CV or tie rod or something with 4" front lift? DO the axles bind at all? Be careful when we go to frenchies, that place will eat CVs.

Truth be told, the front lift has settled a little since the install - but I'm still around 3.5" or slightly taller. I've had the truck in some technical obstacles and I have no issues with binding or rubbing. A friend of mine owns a Goodyear store and he regularly checks out my UCAs and joints, and no leaks or damages of any kind. Call it devine intervention or whatever, but we're still rock solid after a few trips in the mountains.
I'm confident she'll hold her own on the trails that weekend... okay, I'm praying she'll hold her own! LOL
