I'd go with FJ coils and DS kit with 5100's. You'll be happy with the ride and close to 3". I installed a 1/2" body lift that now has me actually closer to over 3 1/2".

Sorry, I think I misunderstood what you were trying to accomplish. Depending on the lift, if I understand you correctly, you have to be careful with the CV angles above 3". I left my 5100's at stock height with DS kit and FJ coils. The FJ coils add some height and a little firmer. It still gives a very comfortable ride.

FYI: We charge $300 for a Toytec install if the shocks are assembled. $400 if we assemble them.

I do have some rubbing up front. Since this picture I made some shock adjustments which drastically improved the clearance. I have plans to chop the body mounts soon too which will help.

I finally got my 4Runner almost finished... for now. My 5100's, FJ coils and DS kit were installed last month. My measurements ended up coming out to 3/2 on the lift. I bought some Cooper ATP 265/70-17's the other day. The 285's rubbed on the control arms and frustrated me, so I passed. I need to get some wheel spacers.

Tomorrow I might go exchange out for some BFG AT 275/70-17's. I cross my fingers that they don't rub on the control arms until I can get a set next month. I might just keep my Coopers. Still debating if it's worth another $200.00 to get the BFG's. We are leaving for Creede, CO next weekend. So far I am really happy, except the backspacing on my wheels. Thanks to all that have contributed. This is a great forum.

I want to add 5100's and FJ cruiser springs to my 4th gen. Would I gain any height? I currently have the DS 2.5 and 1.5 spacer kit with 265/70/17 cooper AT3's? Would you suggest anything different?
