Lift gate/ back door wont shut - 2010 T4R Trail

Folks- I have searched and was wondering if I really do have to buy the whole lock assembly or does someone have a trick for me?

Toyota Part I found while searching: 69110-35081
My truck is 2010 T4R Trail Edition

Problem: back door/lift gate wont shut. Lock assembly is blocking and not fully turning to catch lock. First attempt I noticed the door kind of bounced up

Temp Solution: hold unlock switch under back window and use screwdriver to turn lock into a position so I can close

Have you tried some lithium spray grease or similar (garage door lube, etc) to try and loosen up the physical latch? Or do you think it is a broken "return" spring or something of that sort?

Not sure on the replacement part - sorry

You need to make sure the entire dead body is the back and not hanging out. Otherwise it wont close correctly.

It was the hookers heel! Nah, I just went crazy with the wd-40 and then some grease and it appears to be okay.
