lift hight and functional question

Hi this is my first post.
I have been reading posts and am excited to start on the upgrades!
I have a 05 sport v-8 with xreas shocks

My first upgrade is the radio but I am wanting to know about the day star lift kit
I am leaning toward the 2.5" front and 1.5" rear lift and I believe i can fit 31" tires
the questions are:
what is the overall height to the roof racks ( I want to make sure it fits in the garage )

is there any damage that can be done to the shocks by over extending them

would I need the hub extenders / spacers?

hope I don't sound too new :thanks:

you will fit in garages with the daystar kit. i have it plus i have a cargo rack on top of my factory rack and i can fit in the garage at work that says 6'-5" so im sure you can fit into any garage. and many people run the daystar kit with no damage to the shocks. and you dont have to have spacers but i think that it looks better with them gives it a better looking stance

If you search on the forum for posts with XREAS you can learn quite alot regarding those shocks versus installing a full on "new" lift kit (I.e. replacing all shocks, etc).
The DayStar kit seems to make many folks happy and is fairly easy to install. I would be wary of having a shop install the kit since you have XREAS and it can easily be damaged if they do not know what they are doing....I have read a post or two on here where folks had their truck to the shop to install and it turned out very bad!
Hope that answers some of your questions!

With 2.5/1.5 on stock 265-60-18, I can clear under 6'9" probably even a bit lower than that (that's the height in my office garage)

You should fit fine with only the lift. We have the Toytec 3" lift on our FJ and the rack clears the garage door by 1.5 inches with 285.70.17 tireson it. No lights on the rack or I would have trouble with clearance.

Read a lot on the XREAS. I have it on my 4Runner too. I plan on doing the Daystar 2.5 lift also but I am leaning on having the dealer install it. They quoted me $430 labor. The instal does not seem difficult other than haver a very confined space to work on the shock. Murphy helps me with my mechanical work to much for me to chance it. " A man must know his limitations" Clint eastwood said in Dirty Harry and I agree with that.

I thought about removing the XREAS and going with Toytec until I was on the mountain last weekend. A real bad washboard road and the runner handeled it the best I have ever seen. This is because of the way the XREAS works. I will keep the system until it starts leaking, then change to Toytec. Until then I will use Daystar (after getting the funds to do it)

Read up on the subject, there is enough information to help you make a decision.

The spacers do not overextend the shocks. Also, your factory tires are actually 31" x 10.5, if you convert the metric to standard measurement. You will not need spacers, but the stance will look better with them.
