Hey everyone,
I know there's a million and one threads about lifts but I can't seem to find anything on a few things..
been lurking here for a few years, I have researched a fair bit and have been trying to wrap my head around things. I have no more mechanical experience than changing a tire, so bare with me. I have a 2005 Sport Edition, and I'm looking to lift. Didn't think it would be a problem, I drive mostly on road, a few woods roads now and then but nothing major. Looking through here it seemed a breeze to get a simple spacer lift/level kit installed, so I went ahead and got new tires, 265/70/17 Wrangler Territories. They rub on my stock vehicle, so I ordered a level kit. Locally (within 400km) I have found one option, ReadyLift. So I ordered it, and the local shop said about 3 - 4 hours install. Not bad, but having no experience I'd rather get someone else to do it. Fast forward to today, brought the rig in to get it installed and two hours later I get the disappointing phone call that they can't install it. They said the lift kit doesn't fit, and if it did fit the line running from the suspension wouldn't reach. I've never read anywhere here about that being a problem. The lift was a 3/2...
Now I'm looking at trying to order a Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift online and try to find somewhere else to have it installed.
I emailed readylift to ask about this myself, and I'm not looking for another option. If I have to do the install on a new Daystar, is there much to it?
I hear they have a new "Easy Install" but couldn't find a thread with a how-to on it. I also have almost no tools, and no jack to lift my vehicle except for what it came with.
So far I can't find any shops around that will install a level kit, or change the suspension for me. Toyota won't touch it, nor will the other shops here that normally do lift kits on vehicles.
Someone tell me I'm not completely **** out of luck!:ybrick:
