Great to see yours settled better than my 881/906 setup.

After 25,000km I got some pretty bad sag and I've ordered some 890s to improve things.

Otherwise, it's a really comfortable set-up but I just want a more aggressive stance.

Update time!

I'm almost ready to buy new suspension, and your truck is identical to mine. I really like the stance of yours...and I wanna copy it!

So, a year later - are you still happy with things, or what would you change? I want a 2" lift (or so), with as close to stock ride as possible. With maybe a little more resistance to sag when towing a light trailer (less than 2000 lbs).

I've thought a lot about it, and for the most part I am happy. The ride still isn't perfect, in my opinion. It is improved over my 140,000 old original suspension, but I have wondered if the tundra 5100's would have been better after all. Occasionally I will wonder if the Tacoma ones I have now are just a tad under rated for the OME 881's and the 4runner, but it could all be in my head.

Another thing I thought of maybe doing if I were to do it all over again would be to keep the front coils and get the 5100's and set them with a 1.25" lift. Then I would simply put a 2 inch spacer in the rear. I have wondered how the ride would compare to what I have now. It would for sure be cheaper, and I wouldn't be surprised if the ride was actually better. Given that I don't run a lot of weight (no aftermarket bumpers, sliders, etc) and I don't carry a bunch of gear in the back, the OME springs are a little firm. Not horrible. Just a little firm.

It does help, because it's an honest opinion, and you're not trying to sell me anything! I've been leaning towards the Tundra TRD front, but unsure about the rear. I have 1.5" spacers sitting in a box, but am reluctant to use them. Was thinking LC 7-wraps and maybe 5100 for rear shocks? Ugh...too many choices! And I really only want a 2 inch lift...which is pretty hard to come by, apparently.

Are you planning on holding added weight in the back frequently? If so, 7-wraps don't handle weight very well. If you need weight capacity, you'd be better off going with OME. Also, the spacer in the rear won't hinder ride quality, in my opinion. A spacer in the front will, but not the rear. The front uses preload which alters the spring rate whereas the back simply adds a little height without affecting the quality. Good luck.

If you' don't flex the rear, spacers work great. They are only a hard on the coil if you are constantly compressing them. Other than that they don't hurt a darn thing.....the weight of the truck on the coil is still the same. So at rest, the coils are identical, spacers or not.

Honestly a great small rear lift is tall '99 rear coils and 1.5" spacers. Especially if the coils are fresh, or even new. Works great if you don't tow or carry heavy stuff and you drive on road most of the time.
