How? I know distance plays a factor, but how did you get the all the tires shipped for less than $100?

FWIW, I'm being quoted ~$34 a piece.

Distance plays a big factor...

I'm in socal and shipping is $34 for me also. Econhonda is in SLC. Shipping is only $17 to him.

First time you crack those things on a rock they arent worth half that.

Just a thought. Maybe a little explanation of that to the wife and the "investment" of Rock sliders seems a bit more attainable doesnt it?! :thumb3:

Update: After not being satisfied with the OME shocks (too stiff) I decided to go out on a limb and throw some Rancho RS9000XL adjustable shocks under my 4runner while keeping my OME coils. BAD IDEA! They worked great for about 3 months, then got really soft (picture major bouncing going on). I was surprised to say the least. I called Rancho and they were great about sending me some new shocks. They worked great for about 3 months as well. Then the same thing happened. Moral of the story: Rancho RS9000XLs are not compatible with OME 881's. Do not attempt to pair them together. Well, even though I've had to rent coil compressors 4 times now, I still wasn't afraid to try another uncommon combination. I paired my OME 881's with Bilstein 5100's (tacoma) and I love the ride. Exactly what I was looking for to begin with. Now the test will be if the Billies hold up past 3 months! I have more faith in them than I do the ranchos. Even though the look hasn't changed at all, I thought I'd throw some pics up anyway....

Still running the ranchos in the rear. They have done better than the fronts, but they are still not great. They feel very "slow" if that makes sense. Also, they limit travel quite a bit. I am still unsure how to proceed with the rear shocks. I want to stay around 2" of lift and the shock options get really limited with that height...

Ideas?
 
Well that answered my PM haha, guess I'll go on the safe side and get the billies for the front. Thanks for being the guinea pig on the ranchos and keeping us updated!
 
Don't forget that it's also possible to use 00-06 Tundra Bilstein 5100's shocks up front as with the 500lb/in 881 OME coil. Those are made to handle Tundra TRD coils which are progressively rated up to 600lb/in. For comparison purposes, I believe the stock Tacoma 5100's are made for 350-375lb/in Tacoma front coils.

I'm using the Tundra Bilstein 5100 with Tundra TRD coils and the shocks have been nothing short of amazing for the past few months. Not too stiff and not too soft. Feels smoother up front than the 890's/Bilstein HD in the rear.
 
I've been running 881's with the 5100's set at 1.25" and they still have a smooth ride and are also holding up great. Nice choice on tires also.

I like my Rough Country Nitro 9000's so far. They're paired with OME 890's. They ride great, dampening seems about perfect. However, they're still basically new.....so who knows how long they'll last. The RC's are long enough to use with a taller coil than what you have, but they'll work just fine with shorter coils. You could also go with the stock length Bilstein HD's. When I had 1.5" spacers on top of my 99 coils, I had basically 2" of lift, and that's what was on the truck then. It rode awesome with the stock springs, and I think the Bilstein's would handle the OME stuff fine too.

Sweet. I guess I'm not so unique after all! How much lift did it give you when you set it to 1.25"? I am running mine at the lowest perch, and I'm at 1.75" over my stock 99 coils.
 
At first it was under 3.5" but they settled down between 3" to 3.25". Got exactly what I was looking for smooth ride up front and the 891's hold a load perfectly.
 
Looks great, very clean looking.

I rode a few trails out there on my Yeti back in 98 when I lived in Boulder. Great place to ride. I do remember though that a climber fell down in a gorge and died.
 
Update time! :)

I'm almost ready to buy new suspension, and your truck is identical to mine. I really like the stance of yours...and I wanna copy it!

So, a year later - are you still happy with things, or what would you change? I want a 2" lift (or so), with as close to stock ride as possible. With maybe a little more resistance to sag when towing a light trailer (less than 2000 lbs).
