So all the parts for my custom lift kit have arrived:
Front: TRD Tundra Coils, Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks
Rear: OME 906 Coils, Bilstein 5125 shocks w/ 4runner adapters

A couple questions:
1. The top adapters on the Bilstein 5125 look very thick, does anyone know if one has to trim (widen) the top mouning holes?

2. The bottom bushing on the 5125 seems too small for the hole, it literally "floats" around in there. is this normal?

3. The mounting hardware for the front 5100 has top bushings and bottom bushings and top washers and bottom washers, but it doesn't say which is which? Does anyone know of a way to tell?

Thanks Everyone!

for the rear shocks no you dnt have to trim anything it will fit fine but take the shock of the adaptor and put it on your truck first then put the shock on the adaptor it will be easier and let me know how the 5125 gose with the ome 906 i have them paired with lc 8 wraps and in my opinion they are kinda short:dammit:

They would be short with LC 8 wraps, they were too short for me to use with 7.5 wraps.

What notch are you planning on setting the front shocks on? The 906's might be a little short for the Tundra TRD's. I think Millerad ran that set up and then ditched the 906's pretty quickly.

yea thats what i was thinking when i was ordering them but the guy i talk too insure me that they will match up perfect i even ask like 4 times but i guess i should have did more research or ask for a better knowledge sales person man i kinda regret getting them because it was the same length as the pro comps i had replaced them with:roadkill:

thanks for the replies everyone, today i will be doing more scouring on the internet to find the answers to questions #2 and #3. I had a real hard time deciding between the 906 and the 890 for the rear, if these are too short i guess i will replace them with 890s, but we will have to see. I don't really need the full 3 inches. I will surely post some pics when its installed, planning on doing it over the holiday weekend this weekend.

ok - just got off the phone with Toytec. So If anyone else runs into this in the future:

Q1- Apparently you to not have to widen the top hole (I will find out for sure during installation)
Q2- Supposedly you do not use the metal bushing at all, all that is needed is what is pressed in the shock already.(I will find out for sure during installation)
Q3- The smaller washers/bushings go on the bottom. (I will find out for sure during installation)

Just put 5100's on a few weeks ago. It will be the washer on the top of your pic first, smaller bushing with nipple up. Then scoop washer in the middle of your pic, second small bushing (can't remember nipple up or down, it should fit into notch on underside of tophat) - Large bushing on top of tophat, large washer, dampening rod bolt. Are you putting a new top hat on as well? That should be the order if I recall.

had a few moments. scanned coilover assembly diagram and attached it. The thing I remember is the second smaller nipple bushing was already in my new tophat.

Very nice diagram! I think Bilstein should include a similar diagram. I am re-using my 4runner top hats, but I did buy Tundra Spring isoloators (basically just rubber pieces) that go between the spring and the top hat, I read somewhere that is all that is needed. I guess I will see once I get it all torn apart!
