Lift Kit / tire and wheels Question

Just purchased my first 4runner. My neighbor down the street sold his mother-in-laws due to her suffering a stroke and not being able to drive anymore. It is a 2003 Limited V8 2WD with only 26K miles. I purchased it for $10K. What a fantastic deal. Besides having navigation, DVD, and 4 wheel drive, it is loaded. It still has the original paperwork, first aid kit, and the little tag that hung off the glove box. Besides a few Knicks and scuffs in the paint it is perfect. It will be my daughter's first car who is 16.

My question, and i apologize becuase it has probably been asked and answered a million times, is what are the popular moderate lift kits/leveling kits and tire sizes people are running. Obviously it will be for looks only.

I have always been a jeep guy, but WOW! The 4runners are sweet. I never realized.

I am wanting a good look for my daughter's ride that will still handle well on the rode. I am guessing it will never see more than a dirt road.

I drive a Titan and I am a big fan of Pro Comp lifts, but I wanted to ask the 4runner pros since I am still learning about it.

A very good, low cost option is the Daystar 2.5/1.5 spacer lift. This will run about $130 and is pretty easy to install. It'll give the lift and look you want but won't sacrifice ride quality. You could fit 265/70/17s or even a slightly bigger 275/70/17, although not to many tires come in this size.

You'll want to check to see if you have the xreas suspension. If you do, there will be a hydraulic hose attached to each shock. Spacer lifts are the same for models with or without it, it'll just make the install procedure slightly different.

Thanks. I will look through that section and also look at the products suggested. I also agree that is a sweet first ride. It is way better then my $100 1981 Toyota Celica that had to be towed home from the parking lot where I purhcased it.
