Lift on the way

Good job on the rears. I got about 5" or so out of the same ones. I'm a 98 though so I started a little higher than your 01. Anyway, you will definitely need a spacer or something to go with the TRDs up front. At 3" up front I still have decent rake but still looks good IMO and saves my CVs a bit by not going higher.

As others have said, let a shop take the sprints apart. You will be glad you did. I slipped my mechanic a $20 and was on my way. Worth it!

I'm lifting my 98 too, it isn't an 01. Not sure if I messed that up somewhere...

So far I have something like 6 inches in rear, hopefully they settle a bit.

So you lifted the front three inches or used a 3" spacer on the trd springs. Just want to verify. Is there anyway you could post a pic, I'd love to see the results. Thanks

Oh my bad I thought I read yours was an 01. Yea I got 5" maybe a little more out of mine. FYI they seem to ride better with a little bit of weight in the back. Most of the time I'm fairly empty but on a recent trip with my dogs, cages and misc stuff in the back...I'd say 250-300lbs or so the truck felt like it handled a little better.

Anyway, in the front I am running the Toytec Eibach 3" springs on 5100 Bilsteins set on the lowest clip. I may one day raise it some, but I kind of like the rake for now. There's a pic here: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/107924-eibach-toytec-springs-tundra-5100s-3.html

By the way I am running Bilstein 5125s in the rear with the LCs. Good looking truck, goodluck with the build.

Careful with the Eibach's. At 3" from the spring alone, any higher and you are stretching CV's and increasing axle angles to the extreme. I'd keep it at 3" and leave it.

Quickly measured mine about an hour ago and the numbers from hub to fender (small chrome) are:

Front: 22-7/8
23-1/8
Rear: 24-3/4
25-1/8

The drivers side sits about 1/4 to 1/2" inch lower then the left strangely. I have a tool kit and full tank of gas. I put both the yellow/yellow and the taller LC spring on the drivers side.

Guess I have some gansta lean. Only 30KM on the lift so we'll see how it settles out. Doesn't bother me right now and I like the rake of the TRD coils. Once I get gear in there for trips and camping it'll drop, but I'm fine the way it is now.
 
Yep I doubt I raise the shocks, i have a small toytec spacer laying in the garage, if anything i drop that in, but its a long shot. I actually like the stance of her right now.

Spacers will do the same thing sadly. You are pretty much limited to 3" unless you want things to increase wear exponentially.

If you put the spacer above, it's very similar to putting it above the spring. Both push the control arms down. Above the spring would make more preload and harsher ride though.

As soon as you sign up for the LC swap, you pretty much assume rake. :D I actually like it. Trucks I like level, but 4R's look good with rake, in my opinion.
 
Yeah shibby I like the rake myself. I'm gonna get the three In the front then call it good.

Volley, would you want to let go of the spacers you have? Just wondering.
 
Ok guys. I was able to get the lift completed. Pics below. For some reason I forgot to take before measurements... noob move there. Anyway I am so glad I did this. I had a horrible wandering problem and was not sure where to start but after pulling the first strut I knew why. It wasn't just bad it was dead. No gas in it at all... Then the other was fine so i guess they were fighting each other and causing the issue because now she drives like a dream. I still have the rake but I knew i would, I will upgrade to the bilstein 5100's eventually but for now the hd's drive great.

On another note I installed my b&m tranny cooler and came up with a name for my runner. I figure since its gonna be all black that "Angus" was fitting lol.

If it hadnt been for the rear shocks being so rusted it would have taken 4-5 hours but with those it took me something around 8 for the whole thing
 
Mine took 16 hours because of all the rust and I was doing it all myself and towards the end I started going slow but I'm happy with the end result. How does it ride?
 
The ride is the most impressive part. It had some wandering issues and rode like a broken cart but now it's true and solid. Steers truer and even stops without any pull. I love the look and even the wife noticed the feel of the ride, can't beat that. How is yours treating you?
 
It's awesome!!! I love the height and the ride. I can't wait to get my wheels and tires put on tomorrow and then I'll post some pics.
