So I've lurking around for a couple months good stuff on here! I've been trying to gather as much info as I can but I can't seem to find some exact info I need/ or I keep seeing conflicting info so hopefully one of you more knowledgeable ones can help me out.
I've been looking for a good lift for the $ and I've narrowed it down. I see lots of positive reviews on the Bilstein Shocks yet people all over the place with OME coils but for the most part that's what I want to do. After searching and looking around I've noted Wheeler's has some of the best prices on this stuff so I'd rather get everything from them. Especially since I'll probably want them to put it all together because I don't want to go through the whole autozone rent a tool nightmare i'm reading many of you went through.. but I'm confused on which specific parts to get. There appears to be a couple of different Bilstein shocks on there. For the front they have the TUNDRA model one which I see a lot of people running i think? and another one that is supposedly a B5100 Height adjustable front paid D558. Are either one of them fine? is it preference? I'm going for 2.5 to 3 inches up front. Combining that with an OME coil because I don't have the $ for a new Tundra coil. Though from what I see, wheeler's only sells OME 881 front coils and they say they are good for 1.5-1.75" of lift. Will they work together and give me the 2.5-3 inches? or not? And if not what springs is everyone using with these billies to get them up there, eibach only? As for the rear I'm looking at the direct replacement 4runner Bilsteins offered there as well. Will they work with the OME 891s and bring me up there(3in)? Also I've read that the OME springs get a driver side lean as I think theyre not side specific? Do you need the OME trim packers? I've noticed they sell i think front and rear ones. Front being black and the other one yellow though I'm reading that the Yellow rear ones only work with the OME struts. Any input will be much appreciated guys thanks.
Obviously lift amount will depend on a variety of factors but I'm just trying to get to that average lift height most people are at to fit ~33's or something. I got a 4x4 manual 97 if that changes much.
