Lift spacers for X-REAS and tire size

Thanks, so that is all you have on your runner for lift .. no aftermarket springs or anything? Stock tires?

Correct, just the spacers. The tires are stock.

Make sure You get some body that knows what they are doing to put the spacers on because they have to rotate the top plate on the coil over to get the bolts to line back up...there is a lot they can mess up doing the job, stressing the hydraulic lines on the xreas, pulling abs sensors wires...and if they don't get the eyelet on the bottom of the shock oriented good the rubber bushing will wear out very fast as well. I don't mean to scare You just, make sure it is done right, it is not a difficult job for somebody that knows what they're doing.

This link is to an FJ spacer kit? Does it cross over to the 4runner or is it just the same seller? I see this seller offers a 3" but I don't see a 1".

I see kits that mount on top of the struts and kits that mount between the spring and the top of the strut. I guess the latter preloads the spring and may stiffen the ride a bit? Is one way better? It seems easier to just mount a spacer on top and not mess with compressing the coil (which I never enjoy anyway - I always imagine that thing coming loose and putting a hole in my head). Is there something I am missing? Is one preferable since I have XREAS?

It is listed as FJ but it is the one I bought and used, fits perfect. This spacer fits on top of the strut. You still have to compress the spring because you have to "re-index" the top of the strut to make the bolt holes line up. See in the photo how there are 6 holes, 3 for the original studs and 3 for the bolts supplied with the kit. You have to compress the spring slightly so that You can rotate the strut to make the new holes line up. Hope this makes sense? If it is not rotated fairly accurately though, Your bottom bushing where the strut attaches to the bottom swing arm will wear out quickly.

I think somebody does make a steel spacer that You can install without compressing the spring, I don't remember where I saw it though.

It is nice using a "top out" spacer though because it doesn't make the ride any harsher because it does not compress the spring any to create lift...

Yes, that make perfect sense. It will be easy enough to compress the spring just a tad to rotate and align it. Cool - thanks!
