Lift suggestions on 2016 XP

Hey all, I just bought my 2016 TE w/XP pkg and KDSS. I also bought Spidertrax 1.25" spacers, had them installed and was rubbing all over the place on the front. Had them taken back off and am now considering a 2" leveling kit for the front and not touching the rear. Does anyone have experience with this and can tell me if that's enough clearance? I went to a place called 4WheelParts and the store manager told me that I cannot do a lift kit on my TE b/c of the KDSS, but many threads in the forum say that it's been done. Any thoughts? I was mainly posting here because the OP posted about the XP package and those are the same rims/tires (Nitto Terra Grapplers) that I have on mine. Any guidance/advice is greatly appreciated as this is the first SUV I've ever owned.

Wear those tires out and see what your priorities are after that, looks great the way it is and you have plenty to mess with before modifying the suspension. Led interior lights, philips led fogs are impressive, load yourself an entune start up image, hitch mounted floatation device like a nice Yamaha ski......lots of stuff to scratch that itch while you decide what you really want to do to that truck.

Oh really? The guy at 4WheelParts told me the front is generally lower than the rear anyways and I'm pretty sure he said the rear wouldn't even need to be messed with...but I'm honestly very new to all of this. So looking for guidance.

If you stay under 1inch in the front you don't have to touch your rear. The front is low but by only so much. I am debating between 2/1.5 spacers or 1.75/1 shock/spacer

OK we are going way off thread here. I appreciate all the replies and I like the rims and tires on the truck now. When the tires wear out I am going to go a tad bigger on the tires. Yes its 2WD drive who cares? I live in SFL man! We don't get snow, we don't have hills, I have more paved roads here then off roads so its mostly being driven on the pavement. I just wanted some thoughts on 4 new blistin shocks. Front set to 1.75 with 1inch cornfed spacers in the rear. Wanted some thoughts on if it would look meaner then stock and not like I have little tires with a big wheel gab. :car:

Honestly Id get a $74 Burtman 1" front soacer kit and call it good. The 2"/1" is also pretty close and will set yiu back about $250 after shipping.

It's a Gulf-State thing, so people not in the SET district may not be aware of these. They aren't Toyota special editions or trims, they're SET Port/Dealer gimmicks meant to sell more vehicles.

Didn't mean to sound like I was putting the OP's 4Runner down, I was just trying to explain why people don't know what XP, XPS, "Tundra RockStar", "Tacoma Rockstar", "Tundra Mammoth", ect. are.
I believe Texas has it's own special versions of Tacoma and Tundra "Baja TX". Their not really factory trims or packages, but rather dealer/port specials for certain regions.

The Baja T/X is (was?) actually an option package from Toyota.

Interesting I don't think I've seen a Baja T/X outside of Texas (which why I assumed it was a local factory special since they are made in Texas). But you're right it isn't a local/district special like the XP.

Does using a leveling kit/spacer and then Spidertrax hub centric wheel spacers mess with the performance (offroad or onroad) a lot? I love the way it looks, I guess I can get a lift kit (Freedom Offroad, it's my friend's brand) and a leveling kit for the rear, then throw the spacers on, I think it would look real badass with my XP wheels on there.

I went ahead and ordered 5100s for all 4 and 1inch cornfed rears that's gonna give me a nice aggressive look

This is your best option IMHO, 5100's and spacers in the rear, because you can set it at 1.75" for now until your tires wear.
And when you're ready to upgrade to larger tires? You can set them at 2.5" and install 285's.
The 1.5" spacers can be had for $40 from 4WP.. So not a really pricey upgrade.

The front is usually 2" higher lower in the front (measuring top of wheel well to ground) just grab a tape measure and check for yourself.
If you want the level look without spacers, you can go up 1.5" to 1.75" in the front with Bilsteins and call it a day!

Mine Was actually the opposite.
The Front was 1.5" lower than the back.:wow2::biggrin2:

Problem is, that I did look. There are forums on KDSS, but no one mentions the XP pkg. My problem is that I have both to worry about, since the XP wheel/tire combo is a lot bigger than the 4Runners w/o XP. I spoke to Jason Burtmann at Burtmann Industries though, he told me the Cornfed 2/1 leveling kit would do the trick. They are en route to me now. Can't wait to get that set up and my Spidertrax back on the truck!

5 week backorder on the Cornfeds from Burtman Industries? I'm getting mine via USPS on Saturday, getting them installed Sunday morning. Then throwing on the Spidertrax wheel spacers to start my new year right! Does anyone with a 4R w/ XP pkg know for sure that I'll be able to run the 275/55/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers on my 4RTE with no problems with a 2" leveling kit on the front? I'd like to keep the mudguards up front, but if they gotta go, they gotta go. I don't want to cut into the plastic under the car either...

XP is one of the SET "Packages" that the port does. Typically bolt-on stuff that they do to appeal to the crowd in that area vs. something built and designed by Toyota like a TRD Pro. If I remember right they usually start off with SR5's and build them up to a special trim to sell.

I don't know why Westerners don't have that option "Flashy" Doesn't help the sell factor I'm guessing!:shrug:
