Depends on what has been done and when and what needs to be done still. If there is no history, you have to assume nothing has been done. I dont know about you, but i would have to get the work done to feel good about it. Maybe not a bad price if its super clean and doesnt need much tlc.
I have been scouring Craigslist for the last month, I had one I found on craigslist and when i called to make an offer the guy decided not to sell it. I am out of a vehicle right noe and it is making my life difficult.

In general, do you guys offer more than KBB private party?
KBB says my rig is worth $5,500 and that is in near perfect condition.
I have taken care of it, spent thousands repairing all kinds of things over the last 5 years from 2 new heads, steering, new brakes, valve cover, both axel seals, LBJs and much more.
Why would I ever sell it? I wouldn't part with it for $10,000 because I know what I can buy for $10k and it sucks in comparison.
Many owners probably feel the same way.

I found mine on Autotrader actually, but scoured CL for a couple weeks before I pulled the trigger. It seems like autotrader has/had better product than CL, which can be very sketchy at best.
No it was a guy in Lawrenceville, he has a 99 Limited with 33's. Which would save me some money to do other things when I get it. If I get stock one I can only afford Tires, Lift, wheel spacers and that is about it for a while, other things I would want to do would be the deck plate mod, borla exhaust, wheels, better stereo system, trans cooler, and a diff drop among other things.

If I found exactly what I wanted then yeah I would probably pay a little over Blue Book for it, but I wouldn't if it was kind of what I wanted.
By the way what lift and tire size are you running?

Generally, NO, however I paid more than KBB for mine 2 weeks ago. That said, I bought the cleanest 3rd Gen in Atlanta that was for sale. Fluids are FRESH, TB service (including water pump) was done less than 6 months ago. I have literally every receipt including the sales receipt and window sticker from the previous owner. I was willing to pay higher than KBB because this older guy had his shiz together and I knew I was buying a better than average 2002 4Runner.
