Lifted ground to fender measurements

Ok folks, it's time for you to get out your tape measures! Please post your ground to fender measurements. Include the type of susp. lift (OME, Toytec, Sonoran Steel, etc.), body lift or no body lift, and tire size. I think it would be nice to compare different members' 4Runner configurations on this great forum!! Thanks!

Yeah, I'm in the process of buying a lift for my 01' 4Runner and was curious to see what other members' fender measurements are! There are many nice machines on this forum and I'm sure the pics don't do them justice! I don't see many lifted 4Runners in my area, so I don't have anything to compare my 01'lowrider to!!!

Just Put in my OME 881/906 in on wednesday

Ride height is measured from bottom of limited fender flare to ground W/full tank of gas and 265/65/17 tires


Ride height before

Driver Front 34 3/8"
Passanger Front 34 1/2"
Driver Rear 34"
Passanger Rear 34 1/4"

And a picture for good measure...

Ride Height after

Driver Front 35 1/2"
Passanger Front 35 1/2"
Driver Rear 36 3/4"
Passanger Rear 36 3/4"

Also note front spring have been driven for roughly 100 Mi before I installed the rear springs. I know the rear springs will settle some I don't know about the fronts. I will post updated measurements after settling.

If I measure to the middle of the wheel well I have front 37" and rear 37 3/8"..

It's not as cool because it's not as big, but! If you measure/post from the center of the hub to the fender it eliminates the tire variable....

Yes,measuring form the center of the hub is much more accurate to make a comparison.

I have the factory shocks and taller '99 coils with 265/75 tires.

From the center of the hub I have about 21" front and rear.

From the ground to fender it's at 36" front and rear.

Don't feel like getting on level ground right now to see what my hub to fender distance is, but mine measures:
Front - 38 5/8"
Rear - 38 3/4"
From the ground to the fender w/ new 285s. No body lift.

Springs: 881 fronts (with top plate spacers) and 906's in the rear
Misc: Differential drop

Measurements: 38.5" in the front, 37.25" in the back

I love the ride after the install - corners flatter and the ride has been tidied up a bit. Definitely needed replacing of the original suspension system. However, ToyTec seems to have a little trouble understanding that the lift they sent me in fact does not sit level as they said it would, as you can tell in the picture. I feel like I rant about that all the time but c'mon, I mean I spent a grand of my hard earned cash for their products

I would be a little pissed if they told me that it would sit level too. 890s or 891s would sit level. You could buy some trim packers for the rear for pretty cheap and it's an easy install, that would help. Nice looking runner though.

Which top-plate spacer, how thick is it? Maybe that needs to come out and all would be good...

I was thinking of going this route. It would be a huge pain to swap out the rear springs already (had the lift since mid October) but it's not the most important thing in my life at the moment. Would trim packers dampen any of the benefits I have gained after doing the lift? Like would my ride be worse or would it cause my springs to sag quicker? And thanks dude - your truck is looking pretty sick also.

CJ3Flyr, I have the aluminum top plate spacers in front, the $50 ones available on their website. I need the top out spacers in front (for clearance of my 285's, 2002 4Runners were looooow...) to keep from rubbing on the flares. Pretty sure it's just a half inch thick. I have a feeling I should have ordered either 881 w/ top out spacers or 883 and 890/891 (whichever is medium duty and not HD). I keep getting told via Facebook/Toytec that 890's would leave my rear an inch higher than the front. Ugh. Frustrating

If anyone needs to level out one side of the front (ie driver side) I have a new toytec 1/4 spacer I never installed. It's still in the box, $15 plus shipping. I think I paid $20 for it.

No, I don't think you'd be dampening any of the benefits of your new lift by using trim packers. Sonoran Steel uses the 10mm trim packers on top of 890s for their system 7.2 lift which has been thoroughly tested and proven. I can't see the 906s reacting much differently.

I forgot that the measurements I gave earlier were with about 250 lbs. additional weight in the rear. I took all my crap out and the rear now sits at 39" exactly with the 891s and new 285s (250 lbs. only sagged my springs .25"). Seeing as though you're at 38.5" in the front and you were asking about the softer 890s, they should put you right there (38.5-39"). Thanks for the response and suggestions Brian. I'm definitely going to order a couple trim packers for the rear. I forgot to mention that I have a huge sub enclosure in the back of my truck (can't weigh more than 100 pounds though) but I feel like that's not enough weight to make the OME springs sag, or if they do, only a minimal amount. Only occasionally do I off road or load the back of my truck with a huge payload, but the rake will only get more prominent so I should act now with the trim spacers and just swap out for different coils further down the road

I'm trying to figure out why kelly j's measurements are almost 2-3" higher than mine, yet we have the same springs. I understand the different tire size but that should only be 1" at the most?
