Light bar button swap

Hey everyone, I just installed a light bar on my rig. The on/off button is a single push button. Press it once, low beam, press it twice, high beams, 3rd time and it turns off.

I want to get a button that fits in one of the oem dash spots to use for this. But are those simply on/off? Will I lose the option for high/low beam or do they make after market buttons that will still be able to use this function?

Who manufactured the bar? I have not seen any 3x switches that fit the factory punch outs. I could see some creative wiring to bypass this, but it still wouldn't give you independent control without more than one button.

Perhaps ask if you really need a low and hi mode for an auxiliary light, neither is likely street legal so you could just leave it on hi mode and not worry about it? That would afford you to just have a simple factory looking switch.. just food for thought, I'm not sure what your overall strategy is with the mods on your truck. Good luck.

I'm very confused by your post. You started off by talking about the newly installed Light-bar and it's switch. But what's confusing is your mention of the 'High/Low-beams', which are normally controlled by the "Stalk controller" on the S/C. How is your light-bar switch operating your High/Low-beams? If it's just the light-bar you'd like to control with a factory style switch, that's an easy one. But operating the High/Low-beams requires a whole different plot... perhaps you can help to clarify your objective; I'm sure one of us will be happy to help you with this! 'Best to you',

The switch has three modes for the lightbar: low, high and off. That switch is not controlling the low/high beam functions of the headlights.

The light bar is made by aux beam. And [MENTION=46322]Mace[/MENTION] is correct. The light bar has low,high,off all controlled by a single button. It has nothing to do with the headlights [MENTION=83083]rigtec[/MENTION]

I don't really foresee needing both a low and high mode but i figure if I can somehow keep the functionality, why not?

Check out the Aironboard.com . They have the ON/Off single push that fit in the OEM slot. I have my Aux beam set up on that and works great. I didn't find a need for high or low.

That's what I figured, I'd have to ditch the hi/low mode if I changed the button. I was just trying to see if there was an oem slot button option where I could keep the hi/low

You can probably still use the light-bar's scheme but you may need to use two AOB switches and one extra relay. If you post the wiring diagram either here or send me a PM, we can see just what you would need to make it work using an AOB switch,

That is a very generous offer, but I already had it wired up and it didn't come with a diagram. I'll dig around on the net and see if I can find one. Thanks
