Light surface rust removal for chrome bumpers

I noticed some light surface rust starting on my from chrome pieces. This might be common knowledge for most of you guys but I picked up a small jar of mothers chrome polish for $5. Simple buff on, buff off.

I know it's a temporary fix, but it'll hold me over until I get an off road bumper:surfer:

That's what I did! And continue to do haha. Wherever it's nicked, the rust dots come back every few weeks. Every couple months I'll use the chrome polish and it goes away. What I really need is a buffing pad for my drill; it's very tiring on the hand haha.
