Like father, like son. My first 4runner!

Hey everybody, I actually made an account around October 2013 because I was trying to find a silver first gen that looked like my dad's old 4runner from back in the day.

I ended up putting off my search because I bought myself a 2012 Nissan Frontier Pro-4x in November of 2013.

Well, recently I started having some trouble with the truck, and I didn't really need the bed anymore. I started to look back towards the 4runner since it was the vehicle my dad had when I was a kid and it always seemed to have a special place in my heart.

Two days ago I picked up a 2015 Trail Premium with 4 miles on it! I got a really good deal on my trade-in and I got the 4runner negotiated down to right around invoice price with the rest financed at 0% for three years :whoo:

Man this thing is a BEAUTY and Toyota has come a LONG way from the old first gen I grew up with!

I did my best to re-create the photo so I could show the difference between my 4runner and my dad's. 27 years difference! Of course I went with silver to match his. Too much nostalgia hit me when I saw this on the lot in Classic Silver!

Anyway, that's all for now! I think a big reason why I came back to Toyota and finally pulled the trigger on this 4runner was because of Desert Dawg's build. (http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/168993-desert-dawg-build-what-switch.html) What a great looking vehicle! I hope mine looks just as good someday.

Just took my first road trip in the 5th gen and I could not be happier with it!
I got it with 4 miles on it and I'm already at 900 miles on the odometer after only 1 week! I'm stoked on the mpg that I'm getting! I'm pushing 20mpg on the highway, which is a huge difference from the 15mpg I was getting in my truck previously. The range that I can go in the 4runner between gas stations is awesome.

I went down to Sedona, AZ and spent the weekend there checking out a few trails and seeing some sights! It was a really great trip, and an awesome way to start 2015 with my new ride.

I got a few pictures of it sitting on a pile of snow near Flagstaff, AZ but none from Sedona unfortunately!

LOVE your 4runner by the way! I looked at your thread a lot before I bought mine! I was stuck between the 2012/13 Trail and the new 14/15. Yours and DesertDawgs helped make my decision easy!
