Limited 5speed/Elocker Swap

So before you all go bashing me for posting this, I did look it up and I could find any real definitive posts about this topic. I know there’s been a couple five speed swaps and Elocker swaps, but not anything along this line.

I recently bought a 2000 IJM Limited 4x4, does not have a elocker but does have the j-shift transfer case and center locker. My younger brother has a totaled manual 2000 SR5 4x4 with elocker. Am I able to swap the 5speed and elocker from his 4Runner into mine, but at the same time keeping the existing transfer case and the center locking differential? I’ve read most of the other swaps, so I have a general idea of what all needs to be swapped, but since they are the same year is it necessary to swap the ECU?

Not sure what all’s involved with the 5speed swap. But, I can tell you that the elocker rear will swap in, because I’ve done it. You’ll have the ultimate 4runner 4WD, the multimode center diff-locker, and the rear e-locker. Just make sure your gearing is the same from your current rear to the e-locker rear. If it’s not, you may have to swap the front diff or re-gear.

I have a 2000 SR5 5 speed with the J-shift. I swapped in an 4.30 gear e-locker this summer and am planning on swapping the multi-mode t-case eventually. Same same... but different. haha
