Limited Running Boards

About 2 weeks ago my wife and I replaced her 03' kia optima with a 16' lmited t4r. she wants running boards but really doesn't like the look of the oem boards. I don't see many options for running boards for the limited trim, can anyone suggest any? she really likes the deezee nx boards but when I emailed them they don't offer any for the limited due to extra cladding.

I searched a bit already. the thing that's tripping me up is that I am reading conflicting info on the limited trim. what changed between 2013 and 2014. the running boards that are listed as fitting the 10'-13' limited don't fit the 14'-16' limited rigs this is according to a bunch of websites I've looked at that sell running boards.

the reason i posted a new thread instead of updating one of the others i've found is because most of the other threads talking about limited trim running boards ended in 2012 or 2013 which miss the potential facelift that occured

I believe you that most companies might think it's different, but I gave my factory LE running boards to another member with a new '14+ LE (I think he had a 16) and they bolted right up. I've also seen '14+ LE owners snap on trail rockers which fit every model. Some designs might not work but I suspect most will bolt up without issue. Don't give up yet!

That would be me. The running boards will definitely fit a 2016 limited with no problems.

Thanks again for the running board wife and kids still think its the bet mod to the 4runner.

I'd message someone that has the running boards you want and ask if they can send a pic of how they mount (if there isn't one already), compare to your truck, I bet you'll find it lines up.

Any confirmation that the DZ's will bolt to a 2016 limited ? I'm the same boat as you regarding the wife's truck. She bent on getting the DZ's and I being told they don't work on the 2016 limited. Appreciate any feedback.

pasting the PM i sent you so that others in the future can hopefully see this and have their questions answered.

I took the chance and went with the deezee 16201 (black with black step)

the 3 options they have are deezee 16201, 16202, and 16203 depending on what you want. the mounting kit was the same as for the pre 2014 t4r limited trim rigs. These were purchased separate from amazon.

Since the running boards fit many vehicles deezee just has vehicle specific mounting kits. we ordered our setup from amazon and it came very quickly installation was straight forward with the only slight difficulty being getting the bolts to line up. since you are removing the bolts that hold the limited rocker on I would suggest removing and installing the old bolts and the running board bracket one at a time to prevent unwanted stress on the rocker. it took about 1 hr from un-boxing to actually step on and get in. bolts on the rig are 12mm and the bolts in the kit are 13mm

2014 Trail Premium Running Boards for sale

I took them off when I bought the 4Runner and they have been sitting in my garage. If you are interested, please let me know. I will post a picture as well.

Running board inquires

So just to clarify all Limited OEM 2010+ will swap out with each other? I have a 2010 and I bought it without any on it. I would like to pick up a set of OEM ones but I want to clarify before I go calling around to salvage yards, or searching on different online market places. Any information would help immensely.
