Hi all, new to this forum (but not to Toyota) and seriously considering my first 4Runner. Forgive me if I ask anything that's been covered here before.
I'm wondering about the Limited vs SR5, particularly the 4WD. What is the real difference? Is one better than the other? I don't plan to off road but do plan to utilize the 4WD in snow etc. We want a safe and reliable vehicle with capable traction.
I have my eyes on a couple 2012 Limited models with low miles, mostly because I want the features and luxuries. I've seen loaded SR5s listed that approach the Limited, but not equal. Never seen an SR5 with the push button start.
I've been reading owner forums on the vehicles I've considered. I know all cars & trucks have gripes, but the 4Runner seems to have less than most. The Jeeps are tempting, very posh and stylish with a better compromised between on-road and off-road design and esp. after having rented one in AZ recently and being impressed. But as my mechanics say (granted, avid Toyota and Honda fans) the Jeep is probably great for a couple years. I know too many people with Jeep problems over the years, and so few Toyota owners (us included). We buy long-term vehicles. My current Ford I bought new 13 yrs ago.
