Liquidmantis's modest [boring] build thread

Nice work Liquidmantis :whoo:

Thanks! She's getting there. The lift will, I think, be the end of phase 1, if there is such a thing... I've got the snorkel, wiring, and dual battery install brewing so it's a soft milestone at best.

Starting to think about a hidden winch which would then lead to a dual battery... I hate this site! :repuke:

Haha I haven't been around but I was just browsing the other day after thinking I need to spend more money. So now I have a bumper on the way.

Didn't realize you were still around, haven't seen you in awhile!

I just finished reading through your thread, awesome build.

I bought a 16 MGM Trail last month, have similar wheels, already ordered my SSO bumper and sliders. Been looking at bp-51 and aluminum RCI skids for starters. I thought about tracking it all in my own build thread, but it'd be a copy paste of what you've already done! Great build.

Thanks! I'm really excited to finally have my lift installed. I've been prioritizing other parts and adding the weight prior but I've been anxious to get this done.

You should definitely post yours! I think there are more than a few cookie cutter builds but the sprinkles make it worthwhile.

Very nice fitting winch and cover. Ditto on a January purchase of a MGM TEP, just installed the wheels and suspension. Thanks for the thread, confirms my decision on RCI components and bumper/winch..

Oh, one side note on the RCI aluminum skids. In my picture you can see the optional angle iron gussets for the transmission case skid. Those are a new item and I don't think it's on the web site so you probably have to call to have it added (I did). It was about $20 extra.

Would u happen to have pics of what the resi mounted on driver side look like and how much thread showing on the shocks? Thanx

Okay! Went by Slee yesterday and they confirmed they mismeasured and re-adjusted the front. It's up an additional inch now and back to the same rake that I had pre-lift.

It looks like you encountered the same issue i had after adding weight of the SSO and winch. After adding the weight I was back to the factory rake even with a 2" lift. Mine is PRO and I have been hesitant in swapping out the suspension but that is the best option to get the truck back to level. I leaning more towards Bilstein 6112. Nice build dude!

Well, I had it lifted after the bumper and winch for that reason. I'm not sure why they reduced the preload so much during install but there was a measurement mistake at some point.

Thanks! I'm really happy with how far she has come along.

So how much preload on the shocks t o bring up the fronts now?

Here you go. You can see the witness marks from the prior setting.
