Most dealerships will give you a free programming one time. After that it's usually 50-75 bucks.
Remote start programming took them a couple of hours and they won't do that for free unless you make it part of the original deal.

Remote start involves installation of a module or receiver though correct? I got a quote for $600 and that's from the dealership I purchased. Unfortunately they are 2 hours away so getting the programming done may cost a few bucks. I don't mind and don't feel like waiting until the 10k mile mark. that may be year away. Going to do an oil change much sooner than that.

I had remote start added in as part of the purchase, and they had to order a module (I think). Once the part arrives, it will be programmed in for me.
And yes, it was about $600. :crybaby:

to clarify: You can roll down the front and back windows and sunroof remotely with the key once the setting is enabled. The hatch window can't be controlled remotely. Once open you would have to turn the ignition on or put the key into the drivers door to close the windows. The hatch window works with a key (SR5 and Trail) or the buttons (Limited) on the back.

I have a 2011 LTD and can't figure out how to get all the windows back up with the remote once I lower them with the remote. Does anyone know? Thanks!

You can't. The remote only rolls the windows down, it will not roll them up. That's by design. You can, however, use the arrows on the back to roll the window up manually (rear window) with limited's smartkey system. (Which is the same one I have)

UPDATE:
Technician came out with his computer system today and went through each feature step-by-step to ensure I knew what features he did and which ones he couldn't do. Here was what I had changed (for free btw):
- Windows roll down with SmartKey (roll up feature showed "not available")
- Opening moon roof wirelessly (it slides open completely)
**** Rear window does NOT roll down when the windows and sunroof roll down/open****
- Had doors lock feature changed so when vehicle is shifted into Park it does NOT automatically unlock the doors (moving to San Diego (close to Mexico) and don't need to get car jacked.
- Driver/Passenger Seatbelt Chime Disabled (I can't tell you how nice this feature is to have removed)
- Rear Wiper Interval Speed changed from 3 seconds to 5 seconds (Nice for wet road days)
- Opening Drivers Door Handle Sensor unlocks all doors

don't know if there is a document per se, but when I had everything changed I just told them ahead of time when I was getting oil/tire rotation.
if they won't do it for nothing, find another dealer that will.

there are ways to get the techstream program...the interface cable is what costs...
