Long/Misleading Lead Times on GOBI racks.

Just thought I would add to this thread. I ordered a ladder for my 5th gen a little over 13 weeks ago from Trail Duty. I moved recently and had to change my address. I emailed them multiple times about the address change on my order and never got a response. Finally, I emailed with an aggressive email and they responded. They said they sent an inquiry to GOBI about my order a week ago and I've yet to hear back. Moral of the story, maybe order from GOBI directly.

Got my call today from the shipping company. They will be delivering this week!! 19 weeks and looking forward to installing this weekend!

Got a call today also, they will be delivered tomorrow.

Ordered 29-Oct-17 from TD. Got an email in January that indicated February ship date. Haven't heard anything since. At ~18 weeks and waiting.

UPDATE (08-MAR-18) - I received my rack today. Ordered from TD. Total time from order to receiving rack = 18 weeks 5 days.

Some notes for those wondering:
- "Gobi" brand stick came preinstalled on wind deflector.
- 2" clear protective film IS included in packaging.
- cross bars are not the same powder coating as the rest of the rack. (minor finish differences)
- deck is one piece/complete (no gaps) - saw differing reports on this.

Ordered a ladder from them 1st weekend on November. I knew about their shipping times but at first I didn't mind as I heard it was lighter in weight than Baja and 2nd) its a ladder...how long can it possibly take?

I was told February (back in mid January) and even though i was a little surprised a ladder would take that long I said, "eh I waited this long"

We are now at the end of this month. No update, no shipping update, nada. They have less than 24hrs. My guess is mid March.....for a ladder.

I think Gobi can care less because they are a small company that knows they have a good product and knows you'll give them money anyways. However, good product or not your customer service is everything and that is absolute shit. Oh well

Just know 20 weeks minimum, no matter what they say, and you will have the perfect expectation! You will love it.

Another purchasing suggestion: Call around to your local shops and see if any of them have ordered a Gobi rack for their stock and pre buy it from them.

I was able to get my rack in about 13 weeks from ORW. They ordered a few of them for their stock in Oct 2017, and I pre purchased mine from them in late Nov/early Dec 2017 and it was on the 4runner at the end of Feb 2018.

So while the total wait time was 20 weeks, I was able to knock that down by about 2 months. I win as I get the rack quicker than usual, and ORW wins as they just order another right away for their stock the day I pre purchased.

I'm into week 12. Received an email on Friday from Gobi. Pretty much informed my order is in the queue and will ship out in April. I'm in no rush so just to get an email from them is reassuring.

i just received my rack in today. never got a call from a shipping company, it just popped up. my eyes lit up right when i realized what it was. i ordered it 11/06. puts me right at 20 weeks. looks like i have something to do this weekend. good thing i wrapped my roof last week

There is no other option if you are already eyeing the Gobi. Just order and wait.

I run my RTT on it all the time. Plenty of people do. If you plan to get a 4+ person tent or a pop up tent, you might want to measure first. The front rise sometimes causes issues.

Nope, I'm looking at a 2 person tent. Most likely CVT or 23zero.

Plenty of room. Mine, in the picture, is a CVT Mt. Shasta for comparison.
