hey everyone. i'm a newbie but i thought someone could help me out here. i'm looking at a 1994 sr5 v6 with 152,000 miles. its been in texas almost its whole life, so the exterior is excellent. the interior is great too. this thing runs very smooth and i didnt notice anything wrong with it besides the back window didn't like to roll down very smoothly. the 4WD sounds and rides good. its got a really nice set of BFGs on it. i am in the process of having a toyota dealer run the VIN# to see if the head gasket has been replaced or not. what do you guys think about this? i talked the lady down to $5200. the only reason i am hesitant is because of the 152,000 mi., and the possibility of the h.g. still not have been replaced. i've been looking for something like this for a long time, but since i'm still going to school (northern michigan university) i'm not going to have a lot of money to put into it. any and all opinions and observations are welcome. thanks guys.

Sounds nice, Do the HG check

152K if taken care of you could easy get another 100K out of it.

Also you will not get the best MPG about 14-16 MPG

Welcome and let us know how you do.

:D

hey, another michigan person! do you ever go to silver lake? (between muskegon and ludington) there's a couple of us michigan people that want to get as many 4runner michigan guys together there.

If your local dealership says that it was not recalled for the headgasket and they refuse to recall it then contact The Toyota Regional Customer Service Head Office for your area and file a complaint where they will give your local Toyota dealership 48 hours to comply and give you a free rental car for 1-2 days. For more info:

I just did the same thing

Hey,

I just bought a new 94 this last semester in New Jersey, 120,000 miles, just for college no budget, 4wd. The back window doesn't go down too smooth either, it feels like its just a little tighter than it should be, but it works. Anyways, I've had it for two months and I drove it down from pennsylvania (Penn State U) to Texas where my parents live, its been great.
What I'm doing is I'm replacing any little parts that the previous owners probably never messed with, but its just crap that I'm gonna have to do eventually. Gas filter, air filter, thermostat, radiator cap, belts, pumps, i'm gonna flush it, check the shocks the hoses and the bulbs. Either way, like someone else said, if you take good care of it and its in good shape you can drive it another 100k, and you can easily make it until the end of college which is probably what you're looking for anyway.

If you wanna look at any others, autotrader.com and ebay motors are good places to find cheap deals. I found several here in Texas for good money, not too many 4WD though. Good Luck.
