Looking for a millennium silver hood in or near Portland,OR or should I paint it

Anyone in the Portland Oregon metro area have a millennium silver hood with or without the hood scoop (paint code K73) that’s in good shape with no major scratches or dents? The hood that’s on my 99 4runner limited looks terrible.

I’m also thinking about the idea of sanding this hood down to the bare metal and have a auto body shop paint, blend and clear coat or would that even be worth doing. Here’s a link to my Craigslist ad. Also I’ve already looked at car-parts.com and found one in Longview WA, but it was in rough shape.

I had a body shop paint a Sport hood I bought for my '97 for $500, top and bottom. I had quotes of up to $900, so this was a "deal".

I would NOT have anyone sand it to bare metal if it's the original paint. That would damage the factory applied anti-corrosion coating and make it more prone to corrosion. Any body shop should be able to sand it gently to remove loose or oxidized paint, then hit it with sealer, primer, and paint.

I was able to sell my nearly mint original white hood for $200. So you may be able to find a decent Millennium Silver hood for approximately that amount, but of course silver is notorious for oxidation and peeling, as you see on yours. Plus shipping would be a killer if it's not local.
